The Work
ICF Next is seeking an Event Planner / Events Coordinator to support a high-profile federal government client focused on military and family support programs. This role supports event planning, outreach coordination, stakeholder engagement, and operational event execution activities across a broad portfolio of programs and initiatives supporting military service members, families, survivors, and caregivers.
The Event Planner / Events Coordinator will support integrated outreach and engagement efforts through planning, scheduling, logistics management, stakeholder communications, and virtual and onsite event coordination. The role supports conferences, webinars, leadership forums, community engagement initiatives, and outreach events designed to increase awareness, participation, and audience engagement across multiple communication channels.
Operating within a fast-paced federal environment, the role requires collaboration with communications teams, digital teams, government stakeholders, vendors, and program leadership to ensure successful execution of outreach and engagement activities. The ideal candidate will bring experience supporting event operations, coordinating logistics, and managing schedules and deliverables in a mission-driven environment.
Job Location
Remote. This position primarily supports remote operations and collaboration activities in support of a federal client environment. Periodic travel or onsite support within the Washington, DC Metro Area may be required based on client and contract activities.
What You Will Do
  • Support planning and coordination of in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, including conferences, webinars, stakeholder engagements, leadership forums, and community outreach activities
  • Coordinate event logistics including schedules, attendee communications, speaker support, agendas, materials, and deliverables
  • Support onsite and virtual event execution activities including attendee support, troubleshooting, and operational readiness activities
  • Coordinate with government stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams to support outreach and engagement initiatives
  • Assist with development and distribution of event communications, presentations, briefing materials, and outreach products
  • Support live and virtual engagement activities including webinars, digital events, and social media live events
  • Track milestones, participation metrics, action items, and deliverables within structured workflow and task management environments
  • Assist with audience engagement reporting and provide recommendations to improve outreach effectiveness and participant engagement
  • Ensure activities align with enterprise messaging, branding, accessibility standards, and communications objectives
  • Maintain organized records, schedules, and supporting documentation for outreach and engagement activities

Basic Qualifications
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public affairs, hospitality, event management, marketing, or related field
  • 3+ years of professional experience supporting event planning, event coordination, outreach activities, stakeholder engagement, communications, or related functions

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting federal government outreach or engagement initiatives
  • Experience coordinating conferences, webinars, virtual events, or community engagement activities
  • Familiarity with virtual event platforms and digital engagement tools
