Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our dynamic team at BayCare Mental and Behavioral Center. This full-time position is designed for a professional who is passionate about promoting mental health and well-being in a remote school environment, ensuring that students receive the emotional and social support they need to thrive. The ideal candidate will contribute significantly to the rehabilitation journey of students by addressing their psychosocial needs, thereby fostering resilience and independence.

About the Organization

BayCare Mental and Behavioral Center is recognized for its commitment to comprehensive rehabilitation services aimed at helping individuals regain independence and enhance their quality of life after facing various challenges such as injury, illness, or disability. Our center is dedicated to utilizing evidence-based therapies to maximize functional independence, with a specialized focus on physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology. We have a team of multidisciplinary professionals who collaborate closely to provide individualized, goal-oriented care that meets the diverse needs of our patient population.

Work Environment

This role operates in a fully remote setting, allowing you the flexibility to initiate meaningful interactions and support from your own home while engaging with students and their families via virtual platforms. As part of our school-based program, you will leverage innovative telehealth technologies to connect with students effectively, providing timely assessments and interventions that support their mental and emotional well-being. Our team culture emphasizes collaboration, ongoing support, and the integration of best practices in mental health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments of students through virtual interviews and observations, as well as a review of relevant educational and medical records. Analyze emotional, social, and environmental factors that may affect their academic success and rehabilitation process.
  • Deliver individualized counseling and support to students and their families, addressing issues such as emotional well-being, behavioral concerns, and family dynamics that impact their school experience.
  • Collaborate with teachers, school counselors, and other members of the educational team to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans that consider each student's unique psychosocial needs.
  • Assist students in navigating community resources, including support groups, vocational rehabilitation, or housing assistance for those transitioning to greater independence.
  • Provide essential education and support to families about local community resources and post-rehabilitation services to ensure continual care and support.
  • Participate actively in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions back to school or into other care settings, emphasizing the importance of community and family involvement in each studentโ€™s recovery journey.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population primarily includes school-aged children and adolescents who face various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, behavioral disorders, and trauma-related issues. As an LCSW, you will play a crucial role in addressing these challenges, helping students not only to manage symptoms but to develop coping strategies and emotional resilience that will benefit them both academically and personally.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Social Work from an accredited program is mandatory.
  • An active state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is required to practice.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to facilitate discussions in a remote setting and build rapport with diverse families and educational professionals.
  • Proficiency in utilizing virtual platforms and tools essential for conducting assessments and providing counseling sessions.
  • A commitment to professional ethics and a strong grasp of confidentiality and legal considerations in working with minors.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience working in a rehabilitation, educational, or medical setting is highly desirable.
  • A deep understanding of common adjustment issues, grief reactions, and effective coping mechanisms, specifically as they relate to school-aged children.
  • Experience in using evidence-based practices and interventions in a digital environment.
Compensation and Benefits

BayCare Mental and Behavioral Center offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 75,000 to 100,000, complemented by a sign-on bonus. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:

  • Health insurance that covers employees and their families, ensuring access to necessary medical and mental health services.
  • Retirement savings plans, complete with employer contributions, aimed at securing your financial future.
  • A generous paid time off policy, which encompasses vacation time, sick leave, and holidays to support work-life balance.
  • Ongoing professional development opportunities, including attendance at workshops and conferences to further enhance your skills and knowledge in the field.
  • Access to additional insurances to cover various needs.
Career Growth Opportunities

At BayCare, we believe in the continuous development of our employees. In this position, you will gain valuable experience and insights that can lead to advancement opportunities within our organization. We encourage our staff to pursue additional certifications and training that pertain to evolving practices in mental health and rehabilitation, supporting both personal and professional growth.
