Description

SAIC is seeking a Launch Integration Engineer to support national security space missions by integrating satellite programs with launch vehicle providers. This role supports mission planning, technical baseline integration, requirements development, readiness activities, and engineering assessments across government and industry partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Support integration of space vehicle launch activities from early concept through Day of Launch and early on orbit operations.
  • Assist in identifying mission requirements, performing risk assessments, trade studies, and helping develop mission baselines.
  • Contribute to technical readiness reviews, rehearsals, and coordination meetings.
  • Develop and maintain integration documentation including interface requirements, facility needs, communications requirements, and mission support plans.
  • Track and verify technical and operational requirements across launch providers, satellite contractors, NASA, ranges, and government stakeholders.
  • Support technical evaluation of launch provider data including trajectory products, environmental analyses, mission unique hardware, and interface compatibility.
  • Contribute to comparative assessments supporting mission assignment and launch vehicle selection processes.
  • Monitor industry developments, emerging launch technologies, and new entrant capabilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or related field with 3 years or more experience (advanced degree preferred with 2 years or more experience).

  • Experience supporting government acquisition, satellite programs, mission integration, or launch operations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multi disciplined, multi agency engineering teams.
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Desired Skills:

  • Background in launch vehicle–space vehicle integration, mission readiness, or mission assurance.
  • Familiarity with national security and commercial launch service providers.
  • Experience with modeling, simulation, requirements verification, or technical baseline assessments.
  • Experience using AI enabled engineering tools.
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML based modeling.

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
