What is remote Epicor consulting?

Remote Epicor Consulting involves providing expert advice, support, and implementation services for the Epicor enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, all conducted virtually rather than on-site. Remote consultants assist businesses with system setup, customization, troubleshooting, and training via online collaboration tools. This approach allows companies to access specialized Epicor expertise regardless of geographical location, often resulting in cost savings and increased flexibility. Remote consulting can cover a range of Epicor modules, including finance, manufacturing, supply chain, and more.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote Epicor consultant?

To thrive as a Remote Epicor Consultant, you need strong expertise in ERP systems, particularly Epicor, alongside a background in business analysis and process optimization, often supported by relevant degrees or certifications. Familiarity with Epicor modules, SQL, data migration tools, and remote collaboration platforms is typically required. Excellent problem-solving skills, proactive communication, and the ability to work independently are essential soft skills for remote consulting roles. These abilities ensure effective project delivery, client satisfaction, and seamless support for organizations implementing or optimizing Epicor solutions.

What are some common challenges faced by remote Epicor consultants, and how can they be managed effectively?

Remote Epicor Consultants often encounter challenges such as bridging communication gaps with clients, handling system customizations from a distance, and managing multiple projects across different time zones. To address these issues, consultants typically leverage robust communication tools, regular virtual meetings, and clear project documentation to maintain alignment with client teams. Additionally, staying organized and proactively managing time helps ensure milestones are met and client expectations are exceeded, despite the remote nature of the work.

Job description

Role Overview

TeccWeb, a member of the Alan Allman Associates Ecosystem, is one of North America's largest providers of Epicor ERP services, founded in 2014.

TeccWeb is an Epicor Service Partner specializing in the implementation and optimization of Epicor ERP solutions for mid-market companies worldwide. Our team consists of certified Epicor consultants with expertise in information technology, database development, program customization, SSRS, Crystal Reports, business process re-engineering, and employee training.

With our diverse skill set and collaborative approach, we help clients solve complex business challenges and maximize the value of their ERP systems. Our success is built on strong, long-term partnerships with our clients.

We are seeking an Epicor Financial Implementation Consultant to guide our clients through their ERP transformations. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex manufacturing accounting workflows and Epicor technology. You will lead client-facing workshops, configure financial modules, and ensure successful go-lives.

 Key Responsibilities
  • Client Advisory & Workshop Facilitation: Lead discovery sessions, gather business requirements, map current-to-future state processes, and advise clients on industry best practices.

  • Full-Lifecycle Implementation: Actively participate in all project phases for Epicor Financial modules-from system design and configuration to data migration, UAT testing, user training, and post-go-live support.

  • Core Financial & Cost Accounting Setup: Configure General Ledger (GL), AP/AR, Multi-Company/Intercompany setups, and manufacturing Cost Accounting (standard costing, WIP tracking, variance analysis).

  • Tax & Integrations: Assist with transactional tax setup and third-party integrations (e.g., Avalara / Epicor Tax Connect) where applicable.

  • Change Management & Training: Build strong relationships with client stakeholders (Controllers, CFOs, Finance Teams) to drive user adoption and system optimization.

 What We Are Looking For

1. Epicor Expertise (E10 or Kinetic)

  • Proven hands-on experience with Epicor 10 or Epicor Kinetic Financial modules.

  • Deep understanding of financial workflows within a manufacturing or distribution environment.

2. Implementation Experience

  • Direct involvement in Epicor ERP implementation, upgrade, or migration projects (as an external consultant or an internal Lead/Super User).

  • Solid grasp of cost accounting principles, GAAP/IFRS, and financial reporting.

3. Strong Client-Facing & Consulting Skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (ability to translate technical ERP concepts for non-technical business users).

  • Proven ability to manage client expectations, challenge inefficient processes diplomatically, and drive projects forward.

 Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience in an external consulting firm or as a dedicated internal ERP Lead/Super User.

  • CPA, CMA, or official Epicor certifications are strong assets.

What we offer
  • Fully remote position in Canada or USA (no relocation required). California excluded.
  • Competitive salary, based on experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, disability, and life insurance.
  • Opportunities for career growth and ongoing training.
  • Join TeccWeb and be part of a team of experts working on exciting projects!
