JOB SUMMARY:

The Sales and Marketing Proposal Writer is responsible for developing clear, compliant, and compelling content in response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and related solicitations from K-12 school districts, boards of education, charter schools, and other education agencies. This role supports sales and marketing efforts by translating district needs, procurement requirements, and solution differentiators into proposal responses, product collateral, email campaigns, website content, and other materials that resonate with education decision-makers.

The successful candidate will bring strong writing, editing, proofreading, and project coordination skills, along with the ability to collaborate with sales, operations, subject matter experts, and leadership to produce fresh, persuasive, and timely content. The role requires a general understanding of K-12 district priorities, including student outcomes, educator support, compliance, procurement requirements, and long-term partnership value.


SCHEDULE:

  • Monday-Friday 8:30 am-5:00 pm
  • Four days in-office/One day remote

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Write, edit, and proofread RFPs and bid materials to create compliant proposal responses and marketing collateral tailored to K-12 school district opportunities.
  • Analyze school district solicitations, evaluation criteria, scopes of work, addenda, and procurement instructions to identify compliance requirements, deadlines, win themes, and formulate response strategy.
  • Manage proposal timelines by coordinating content development, internal reviews, approvals, and submission milestones to meet district deadlines.
  • Ensure proposal responses are compliant, evaluator-friendly, and aligned with district goals, procurement requirements, and organizational messaging.
  • Maintain and improve a K-12 proposal content library, including approved narratives, district-facing value propositions, past performance/reference examples, staff resumes and biographies, and common compliance responses.
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, implementation, and subject matter experts to gather accurate information and position solutions for district leadership, procurement teams, and school administrators.
  • Track lessons learned and recurring district requirements to strengthen future responses and improve win strategy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of experience in proposal writing, marketing writing, education-sector communications, or a related field; K-12 school district proposal experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field.
  • Strong ability to write persuasive, accurate, and compliant content for district evaluators, administrators, and education stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interview subject matter experts and synthesize complex information into clear proposal narratives.
  • Knowledge of K-12 school district priorities, procurement processes, and education terminology preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, collaborate within a team environment, manage multiple concurrent proposals, meet strict deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
  • Experience using proposal management tools, content libraries, Microsoft Office, and collaboration platforms preferred.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing channels, including email marketing, website content, and social media, with an emphasis on messaging for school district audiences.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • APMP certification preferred, but not required.
