A leading environmental consulting firm is seeking a Staff Environmental Project Manager with a background as a Geologist, Engineer, or Scientist to join their growing engineering and environmental science team. This role will involve some fieldwork and limited travel and is an excellent opportunity to jumpstart your career. This position can be located in Irvine, Long Beach, Glendale, or Valencia, CA. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fieldwork such as environmental site assessments, indoor air, soil, soil vapor, surface water, and groundwater sampling and contractor oversight, aquifer testing, geophysical investigations, and remediation system O
  • Assist in the development of site health and safety documents and abide by the same health and safety requirements when working in the field;
  • Chemical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluation;
  • Groundwater and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, and implementation;
  • Aquifer testing and hydrogeologic data analyses;
  • Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting;
  • Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures; and
  • Preparation of technical reports including Phase I’s, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

  • Bachelor s degree in environmental science, geology, hydrogeology, hydrology, environmental, civil, or chemical engineering. (required)
  • Advanced degree in environmental science, geology, hydrogeology, hydrology, or environmental engineering. (preferred)
  • Ability and interest to obtain professional licensure in the State of California (Professional Geologist or Engineer). (preferred)

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
  • Prior research experience in environmental sciences, geology, civil engineering, or another relevant engineering field.
  • Permitting experience
  • Phase I experience
  • Compliance experience (Stormwater, Hazardous waste, etc.)
  • Approximately 2-5 years of related experience
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Ability to travel overnight on a limited basis
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
  • Valid U.S. driver s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
