The Supervisor, Remote Patient Attendant provides leadership and supervision to all Remote Patient Attendants. Promotes a level of professionalism, leads by example, and encourages a caring, helpful, and responsive attitude toward patient observation and monitoring of assigned high-risk patients. Coordinates and supervises remote video monitoring functions and supports the department as required. The Supervisor, Remote Patient Attendant is responsible for the coordination of remote video monitoring services on his/her shifts; promotes cooperation and assures proper communication flow between Remote Patient Attendants and clinical areas. The incumbent in this role leads and promotes a secure environment for patients and teammates and performs all related job responsibilities in a safe manner.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Oversees daily department operations to achieve quality results, productivity, and patient satisfaction goals/objectives.
  • Supervises, orients, trains, evaluates, and monitors on-the-job performance.
  • Audits and maintains department metrics for unit and organizational goals.
  • Promotes quality improvement and systems-thinking by openly supporting and consistently communicating the mission of the department and organization. Collaborates with management team on the development, implementation and evaluation of policies and procedures designed to improve quality of care and operational efficiency.
  • Promotes culture of safety and responsiveness.
  • Assists in developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives that directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
  • Ensures compliance with policies and standard work for the department to ensure metrics are met and processes are appropriately followed.
  • Staffs, trains, and supervises staff- including participation in annual performance evaluations.
  • Monitors equipment utilization and oversees proper working order of equipment. Ensures adequate supplies.
  • Interacts and effectively communicates with nursing staff and make visits to units as needed.
  • Assumes responsibility for staffing and scheduling with appropriate utilization of personnel.
  • Assists Director of Nursing with standardization of remote video monitoring processes across inpatient units.
  • Onboards and orients new staff to the role, ensuring role responsibilities, training, and competencies.
  • Conducts rounds on each staff member throughout the shift to discuss potential/actual issues.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license
Certification and Licensing:
Valid State of Florida LPN license required
Refer to department description for applicable certification requirements
Experience:
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience required

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas clearly and persuasively.
