Environmental Intermediate Field Technician - Permanent, FT

Office Location: Fort St. John, BC. Candidate is expectedto be able to work from our Fort St. John location and must have travelflexibility to conduct remote field / camp work. A relocation bonus and/or sign-in bonus willbe offered for the right candidate.

Pay Range: $30 - $37/hour. Compensation is based on experience, education, and overall suitability for the role. Our total compensation package includes overtime, extended health benefits with no cost sharing, vacation pay, external training budget, and a bonus profit-share program designed to favor field staff.

Our areas of expertise include contaminated sites, reclamation, and natural sciences work.

The primary function of the Environmental Intermediate Field Technician is to safely complete fieldwork programs, manage data and prepare factual reports under the direction of an Environmental Project Manager. This position supports Remediation, Reclamation, or Natural Sciences projects located in Northeast, BC and includes significant field work activities.

Your Key Responsibilities as an Environmental Intermediate Field Technician

  • Lead the investigation, remediation, reclamation, or natural sciences field activities in accordance with regulatory requirements and SynergyAspen's preferred operating procedure.
  • Assist with technical report writing on technical reports and proposals.
  • Assist with preparation of scopes of work, and cost estimates.
  • Adhere to client specific and SynergyAspen's Health and Safety policies.
  • Ensure timely deliverable of assigned tasks.
  • Maintain billable targets as set by Supervisor.
  • Provide excellent levels of service to our internal and external clients.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications for Environmental Field Supervisor

  • 2+ years field experience in Northeast BC, related to remediation/reclamation.
  • 2-year technical diploma or degree in Environmental Sciences or Engineering.
  • Ability to work outside in remote locations in adverse weather conditions, when required.
  • Experience writing technical reports.
  • Experience with BCER Regulatory Guidelines is an asset.
  • Candidates working towards an accredited designation (P.Ag., P.Geo., P.Chem.) recognized in BC is an asset.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite programs, specifically Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word.

  • Reliable attention to detail, remarkable accuracy, and professional organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
