Position Summary

EBI is seeking a full-time Environmental Scientist to conduct due diligence services.ย  The successful candidate will perform field assessments of limited/selected property types, interviews, and independent research of local, state, and federal resources.ย  Reporting may include Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and/or Cultural Resources deliverables.

This position reports directly to the Area Operations Manager and is a fully remote, work from home position. The majority of clients this position will support will be located in Southeast, so candidates will need to already be established in this market. This is a field-based position, with upwards of 50% local and regional travel expected. Candidates must have previous experience with travel and be comfortable with this model to be considered.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct field assessmentsย on variousย projectย types.ย 
  • Perform interviews and independent research using local, state, and federal resources.ย 
  • Prepare environmental reports includingย Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs),ย National Environmental Policy Actย (NEPA)ย documentation,ย Cultural Resources deliverablesย 
  • Conduct site reconnaissance and sampling activities.ย 
  • Compile and prepare supporting documentation such as site figures and appendices.ย 
  • Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and project requirements.ย 
  • Travel to project sitesย onย short notice (typically one week or less) as needed.ย 

Qualifications and Capabilities

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree from accredited college or university in environmental science, engineering or related field
  • 1+ years of professional experience in environmental consulting

The reasonable estimate of the salary range for this position is $55,000 - $70,000. The salary range describes the minimum to maximum base salary range for this position across applicable US locations. This position may also be eligible for a bonus whereby total compensation may exceed base salary depending on individual performance. The actual compensation offered will be based on a range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to; geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements, knowledge, skills/level, qualifications and budget.
