Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ social, emotional, and environmental challenges to formulate tailored service plans.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to develop individualized care strategies that promote resiliency and recovery.
• Provide both individual and group counseling focused on support and recovery for clients dealing with substance use issues.
• Engage actively with clients to build trusting relationships that encourage openness and honesty, which are vital for effective counseling.
• Offer immediate crisis intervention and safety planning during high-risk situations to ensure client safety and stability.
• Collaborate with external community organizations to coordinate services and advocate on behalf of clients for access to necessary resources.
• Facilitate community outreach initiatives aimed at increasing awareness about available services and social justice issues.
• Regularly participate in case conferences and team meetings to share insights and strategies for improving client outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily focus on individuals and families grappling with substance use disorders who are residents of our detox center. This demographic often faces a myriad of social challenges, including mental health issues, poverty, and trauma. Understanding the complexities of these intersecting issues will be crucial in tailoring appropriate interventions and support systems.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.
• Must hold an active state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
• A firm understanding of trauma-informed care principles and community resources that address substance use and its related social issues.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, along with a strong ability to navigate and problem-solve in complex situations.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a social service agency or detox/rehab setting is preferred, particularly in counseling individuals with substance use challenges.
• Demonstrated knowledge of social and economic justice issues, along with a commitment to creating equitable access to resources for marginalized communities.

Compensation and Benefits
