What is a remote environmental impact assessment?

A Remote Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is the process of evaluating potential environmental effects of a proposed project or development using digital tools and remote data sources instead of on-site visits. This approach leverages satellite imagery, geographic information systems (GIS), and other remote sensing technologies to analyze environmental factors such as land use, water quality, and biodiversity. Remote EIAs are especially useful for projects in inaccessible or hazardous locations, and they can provide timely, cost-effective insights while minimizing the environmental footprint of the assessment itself.

What are common challenges faced by professionals conducting environmental impact assessments remotely, and how can these be addressed?

Remote Environmental Impact Assessment professionals often face challenges such as limited site access, reliance on secondary data, and coordinating with stakeholders across different locations. To address these issues, many teams leverage advanced GIS tools, satellite imagery, and virtual collaboration platforms to gather reliable environmental data and maintain clear communication. Building strong relationships with on-site partners and local experts also helps ensure accurate assessments and compliance with regulatory requirements.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote environmental impact assessment specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist, you need a solid background in environmental science, ecology, or a related field, often supported by a relevant degree and experience with regulatory frameworks. Proficiency with GIS software, remote sensing tools, and environmental modeling systems is typically required, along with certifications like ISO 14001 being advantageous. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for interpreting data and collaborating with stakeholders remotely. These skills and qualifications are vital to accurately assess environmental impacts, ensure regulatory compliance, and facilitate informed decision-making for sustainable project development.

MOS Implementation & Process Improvement Consultant

Remote with on-site engagement in client manufacturing facilities

Ready to make a lasting impact on how world-class manufacturers operate? We’re looking for a MOS Implementation & Process Improvement Consultant who’s hands-on, driven, and energized by the rhythm of the plant floor.

In this role, you’ll design and roll out management operating systems (MOS) that bring structure, accountability, and measurable results to client operations. You’ll lead process improvement projects, coach leaders, and create scalable systems that help teams sustain performance long after the engagement ends.

If you’ve worked in food or automotive manufacturing—and bring some consulting experience—you’ll thrive here.

What You’ll Do
  • Build and implement smart operating systems that drive daily performance—think visual management, tier meetings, and escalation routines.
  • Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement projects that deliver tangible results on key metrics like OEE, scrap, and throughput.
  • Coach and empower frontline leaders and CI champions to own and sustain improvement work.
  • Deploy best practices across sites—virtually and onsite—to ensure consistency and accountability.
  • Champion data integrity and connect your work directly to business outcomes.
  • What You Bring
  • 5+ years in manufacturing operations (food or automotive strongly preferred).
  • Proven ability to implement and sustain CI and MOS systems.
  • Dynamic facilitation and coaching skills—comfortable leading teams both inperson and remote.
  • Experience with multisite deployments and strong grasp of performance data management.
  • Bonus Points
  • Consulting or advisory experience.
  • Certifications (Lean Six Sigma, CPIM, CSCP).
  • Experience in PEbacked manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with digital CI tools or productiontracking systems.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Join us and help build manufacturing systems that don’t just improve performance—they transform it. If you love turning operational insights into sustainable success stories, we want you on our team.

    Compensation and Benefits

Synergetics Worldwide offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, including:

  • Competitive base salary with performancebased bonus opportunity
  • Comprehensive health and dental
  • 401(k) with company contribution
  • Short and LongTerm disability insurance
  • Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment
  • Unlimited paid time off and holidays
  • Professional development support including certification reimbursement and conference participation
  • Collaborative, highperformance culture with real opportunities for advancement
  • Synergetics is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We utilize E-Verify for I9 certification.
