A Remote Environmental Consultant assesses environmental risks, develops sustainability strategies, and ensures regulatory compliance for clients, all while working remotely. They may conduct virtual site assessments, analyze environmental data, and provide recommendations for minimizing environmental impact. This role often involves collaborating with businesses, governments, or organizations to help them meet environmental regulations and sustainability goals. Strong communication, research, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this position.

Job description

Are you energized by working in high-impact, cross-functional environments? Do you enjoy shaping growth strategy and supporting strategic investment decisions?

As a Senior Consultant within US Corporate Development, you will help evaluate and advance Deloitte's most strategic investment priorities. You will lead and support complex initiatives across the investment lifecycle - from market assessment and opportunity evaluation to business case development and executive-level recommendations.

This role requires strong strategic thinking, analytical rigor, executive communication skills, and the ability to thrive in an environment that is fast-paced, collaborative, and often ambiguous.

Work you'll do

As a Senior Consultant on the USCD team, you will:

  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analyses through market research that will inform acquisition target identification and pipeline development
  • Proactively source and screen potential acquisition targets aligned to Deloitte's priority growth areas
  • Engage with senior leaders to help articulate the strategic rationale for potential acquisitions, including capability fit, market positioning, and long-term growth impact
  • Support development of investment theses and business cases, including financial modeling and value creation assumptions
  • Manage and oversee key due diligence workstreams, coordinating across functional stakeholders (e.g., financial, operational, commercial, technology, HR)
  • Synthesize diligence findings into clear executive-level materials highlighting risks, synergies, and value drivers
  • Plan and support execution of post-close integration activities, including integration roadmap development, synergy tracking, and governance structures
  • Manage project plans, track milestones, and ensure operational rigor across the deal lifecycle

A Successful Candidate Will Possess:

  • Demonstrated experience in growth strategy development and market assessment frameworks
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex qualitative and quantitative information into clear, actionable insights
  • Strong hypothesis-driven problem solving and structured thinking
  • Superior executive communication skills, including advanced PowerPoint/storyboarding capabilities
  • Strong Excel skills and experience structuring and analyzing large datasets
  • Ability to quickly understand new markets/emerging technologies relevant to enterprise transformation and translate findings into business value, risk, and investment implications
  • Experience supporting strategic investment, M&A, corporate finance, or new business evaluation initiatives
  • High attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence
  • Intellectual curiosity and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset
  • Ability to thrive in a remote, fast-paced, and evolving environment
  • Collaborative, team-first orientation with the ability to build trusted relationships across stakeholders

The Team

This position is part of Deloitte's US Corporate Development (USCD) function. USCD plays a critical role in shaping Deloitte's future by driving the firm's inorganic and organic growth agenda. The team partners with senior leaders across the firm to evaluate, prioritize, and execute strategic investments that strengthen Deloitte's market position and long-term growth trajectory.

USCD operates at the center of strategy, investment execution, and enterprise transformation. Team members work in a high-impact, high-visibility environment, supporting some of the firm's most significant and complex growth initiatives.

In this role, you'll join a cohort of Consultants/Senior Consultants for USCD. As part of this dynamic resourcing pool, you'll be deployed to high priority initiatives and projects across the Corporate Development ecosystem, helping the team adapt to evolving market needs and prioritize the most important areas for the firm.

This is an internal, non-client-facing role with limited travel as needed for business meetings. The team operates in a remote environment, with flexibility to work from home or a local Deloitte office

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of strategy, corporate development, investment banking, consulting, or relevant experience OR MBA with 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience developing executive-level presentations and communicating with senior stakeholders
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
  • Ability to travel up to 10%, as required, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred:

  • Experience with M&A, investment evaluation, or corporate finance
  • Experience with market sizing, expert interviews, and survey design
  • Familiarity with Deloitte's business structure and internal processes
  • Experience leveraging emerging AI tools (e.g., Enterprise GPT, Claude) to enhance research and productivity

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $93,000 to $171,000.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
