As a Consulting Associate, Environmental Geologist/Scientist/Engineer based in Rochester, New York, you'll contribute to projects that protect ecosystems, advance remediation technologies, and support communities across the Great Lakes Northeast region and beyond. What You'll BringRequired
  • BS in geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, or environmental engineering; Or 8+ years of equivalent experience.
  • Recent graduate to 2 years of experience, with interest and willingness to participate in field assignments.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within project teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience recording and writing detailed technical data and reports.
  • Ability to thrive in a consulting environment-managing multiple tasks, adapting to shifting priorities, and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Detailoriented, with mechanical aptitude and handson problemsolving skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to established Health & Safety protocols.
  • Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% regionally, including multiple overnight stays; approximately 25% office-based work.
  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

  • Environmental fieldwork experience.
  • 40hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct fieldwork including:
    • Soil, sediment, groundwater, building, waste, and surface water sampling
    • Aquifer testing
    • Drilling oversight and soil logging
    • Soil boring and monitoring well installation
    • Well development, purging, and sampling
    • Construction oversight
  • Coordinate and direct drilling, surveying, and laboratory services.
  • Support environmental remediation/demolition projects and O&M of remediation systems.
  • Compile and evaluate soil, groundwater, air, sediment, and other environmental data.
  • Assist in preparing reports for regulatory agency submittals.
  • Review groundwater chemistry data and prepare figures/exhibits for regulatory reporting.
  • Perform Phase I and II environmental site assessments to support property transfer transactions.
  • Assist with compliance related to federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Manage assignments within defined quality, budget, and schedule expectations.
  • Communicate with project teams, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, tenants, and clients during field activities.

For the Consulting Associate, Environmental Geologist/Scientist/Engineer position, the anticipated annual base pay is $66,081-$81,353 (USD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).
