JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Entomology iTOX Lab in the College of Agricultural Sciences invites applications for a part-time undergraduate student research assistant.

This recruitment will be used to fill two part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week during academic terms and a maximum of 40 hours per week during summer semester) student research assistant positions.

Two punctual, responsible, talented, self-motivated, team worker undergraduate students will be recruited to join the iTOX Lab at Penn State. The successful candidate will receive professional training in molecular and biochemical techniques, as well as develop technical and presentation skills. Duties will be performed in the greenhouse and/or laboratory and will include assisting with insect population or cell line maintaining, molecular biology and biochemistry experiments, collecting and entering data, and eventual tedious activities but necessary to keep the project running.

Initially, students will report to the Principal Investigator or their direct mentor. The development of their own research projects is a possibility depending on their interest and performance.
