Job description

Zurich's Risk Engineering Property South Team is seeking a Property Field Risk Engineering Consultant with large property highly protected risk (HPR) experience. This is a work from home role positioned in North Carolina within the Raleigh, Greensboro, or Charlotte areas. Expected travel at 40%.

Our Property Field Risk Engineering Consultant responsibilities and expectations include:

  • Provide field risk engineering to meet underwriting requirements.
  • Develop and implementing customer service strategies that reduce loss and improve customer operations.
  • Provide engineering support to underwriting team by attending client broker meetings
  • Perform field engineering services where necessary, primarily for larger locations on accounts and/or prospects within the region.
  • Deliver advanced property consultative services to customers, including identifying exposures with significant loss potential, investigation of cause/effect of major losses and property management programs
  • Assist in marketing Zurich risk transfer insurance products in conjunction with underwriting professionals and agents across company business segments.ย 

This position focuses on conducting detailed risk assessments, implementing customer service strategies, evaluating risk management processes, delivering advanced consultative services, and supporting marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will have significant HPR experience and be prepared for the travel requirements associated with the role.ย 

The role will be filled at the Risk Engineering Consultant or Senior Risk Engineering Consultant level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant's experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.

Basic Qualifications:ย 

Risk Engineering Consultant:ย 

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Property Risk Engineering areaย 
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Property Risk Engineering areaย 
    AND
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Experience working in a team environment

OR

Senior Risk Engineering Consultant:ย 

  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Property Risk Engineering areaย 
    ORย 
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Property Risk Engineering areaย 
    AND
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Experience working in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:ย 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Fire Science, or related degree
  • HPR Property experience
  • 4 or more years of property loss control/Risk Engineering experience within the insurance industry
  • Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS)
  • Strong communication and consultative skills
  • Outstanding collaborative skills
  • History of working successfully in a team environment
  • High degree of proficiency related to PC and MS-Office Software

Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. The combined salary range for this position is 75,800.00 - $164,100.00. The proposed salary range for the Risk Engineering Consultant is $75,800.00 - $124,100.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.The proposed salary range for the Senior Risk Engineering Consultant is $100.200.00 - $164,100.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
