Lenze Americas is hiring a Market Development Sales Engineer to join our expanding sales team targeting new logo wins focusing on Servo automation. This remote role is ideally based in the Boston / New England or Chicago area.
Position : Market Development Sales Engineer - Servo
Position Location : Boston, Chicago or Major Metropolitan in Northern U.S.
Position Type: Remote
Compensation: $81,000 - $155,000
(Estimated compensation includes base salary plus incentive. Base salary varies depending on location, skills, knowledge, education, and industry experience)
Position Snapshot: The Market Development Sales Engineer - Servo is responsible for expanding Lenze's presence in targeted OEM markets by identifying and developing new opportunities for servo drive and motion control solutions, generating and qualifying leads, advancing them through the sales pipeline, converting prospects into long-term customers. This business development role builds a strong growth funnel and converts untapped opportunities into revenue while positioning Lenze as a trusted partner through a compelling, value-driven approach.
About you : You're a true hunter who thrives on uncovering untapped sales opportunities and driving growth. Competitive and highly motivated, you excel at winning new customers and landing new logos, using your technical expertise, industry experience, and outgoing personality to build strong relationships and earn trust.
A day in the life:
  • Proactively identify, target, and develop high-potential OEM prospects that utilize or could benefit from servo drive and motion control solutions to drive new customer acquisition and market growth.
  • Conduct outreach, qualify leads, and secure initial customer meetings
  • Lead discovery conversations to understand customer applications, needs, and buying processes. Identify technical opportunities to leverage Lenze's motion solutions
  • Support technical presentations and product demonstrations in collaboration with internal teams
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline, advancing opportunities through the sales funnel to close
  • Accurately track all customer activity, pipeline progress, and next steps in CRM
  • Partner with channel managers and distribution to expand market reach and develop opportunities
  • Increase market share at existing accounts by identifying additional application growth opportunities
  • Provide accurate forecasts, meet or exceed sales targets, and contribute to territory growth
  • Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to deliver effective customer solutions
  • Continuously build product, application, and market knowledge
  • Participate in training, sales reviews, and cross-functional initiatives to improve performance

Requirements
What you will need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or related experience preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in technical sales, sales engineering, or application engineering
  • Solid understanding of motion control technologies (gearmotors, VFDs, servo systems)
  • Exposure to Object Oriented software development, IEC61131-3, CIA402, and Codesys Softmotion. (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of target markets, including OEM applications, competitors, and industry dynamics
  • Proven success in new customer acquisition with a proactive, results-driven "hunter" mindset
  • Disciplined in CRM usage, pipeline management, and data-driven performance tracking (KPIs)
  • Ability to lead discovery conversations, qualify opportunities, and manage sales cycles with minimal guidance
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage technical and business stakeholders
  • Ability to clearly communicate value propositions and quantify customer impact
  • Resilient, persistent, and comfortable navigating ambiguity and overcoming challenges
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM tools and ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Currently reside in the targeted geographic location for the role
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% for customer visits, trade shows, and training
