Job Description:

MARS Solutions Group is looking for an experienced Senior Preconstruction Manager located in Remote within Michigan, Ohio, or Indiana. Our client is a Building Automation industry Leader looking for high-quality talent to make a difference. They are known to respect a traditional work week and often extend contracts for added job security and stability

Overview:

This role is focused primarily on pre-construction project development, estimating, and operational planning for complex infrastructure and energy-related projects. The Senior Preconstruction Manager will collaborate closely with engineering, sales, subcontractors, and project delivery teams to help develop customer solutions, build project estimates, assess risk, and support successful project transitions into execution.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong construction project management and estimating background who enjoys customer interaction, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Support project development activities from concept through contract execution

Coordinate subcontractor bidding and evaluate proposals

Develop project estimates, budgets, schedules, and risk assessments

Assist with project execution planning and operational readiness

Participate in customer meetings, site walks, and scope discussions

Collaborate with engineering, sales, and project management teams

Help prepare bid packages and subcontractor scopes of work

Support project turnover to execution/delivery teams

Maintain strong customer and subcontractor relationships

Assist with project documentation, reporting, and financial coordination

Qualifications

5+ years of project management, estimating, or preconstruction experience within the construction industry

Strong understanding of construction project workflows and subcontractor coordination

Experience with estimating, budgeting, scheduling, or project cost analysis

Ability to travel to project/customer sites as needed

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project-related software tools

Nice to Have

PMP certification

Construction Management or Engineering degree

Experience with energy efficiency or sustainable infrastructure projects

Exposure to RSMeans, Preconstruction Suites, or similar estimating tools

Preferred Background

Experience within:

Mechanical construction

General construction

Electrical construction

HVAC/building systems

Infrastructure modernization

Energy retrofit environments

Experience managing or estimating construction-related projects

Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and subcontractors

Strong communication and customer-facing skills

Comfortable reviewing bids, assessing project risks, and supporting operational planning

Additional Details:

Primarily remote-based role with regional travel

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday

Travel may range from approximately 20–50% depending on project activity

Company vehicle program available

Bonus eligible position

Duration: Direct Hire

Location:  Remote within Michigan, Ohio, or Indiana

Shift hours: Mon – Fri; 8 to 5
