Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled L3 macOS Engineer to support and optimize enterprise macOS environments within a large-scale IT infrastructure. This role will serve as an escalation point for complex macOS incidents and problems, while driving automation, endpoint management, operational stability, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess strong experience supporting enterprise Apple environments, Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms, scripting and automation, endpoint compliance, and cross-platform interoperability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as an escalation point for complex macOS incidents and problems, owning high-severity issues through resolution and root-cause analysis.
  • Administer, maintain, and optimize enterprise-scale MDM platforms supporting macOS devices.
  • Build and maintain scripts and automation to reduce manual effort, accelerate remediation, improve endpoint telemetry, and streamline operational processes.
  • Partner with Security, Networking, Service Desk, and Infrastructure teams to standardize support solutions, publish knowledge articles, and improve L1/L2 operational capabilities.
  • Monitor macOS fleet health and provide reporting on KPIs including compliance, patch levels, endpoint performance, and incident trends.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to endpoint management, automation, patching, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate on cross-platform interoperability issues and support VDI/Citrix environments as needed.
  • Work closely with Windows engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and compatibility across enterprise platforms.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, change records, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in change management and release management processes while ensuring operational stability and compliance.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience supporting enterprise macOS environments.
  • Hands-on experience with MDM platforms such as Jamf Pro, Kandji, Intune, Workspace ONE, or equivalent.
  • Experience with scripting and automation using Bash, Shell, Python, or AppleScript.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills for macOS systems, applications, and endpoint services.
  • Experience supporting endpoint compliance, patch management, and fleet health monitoring.
  • Familiarity with cross-platform support environments including Windows interoperability.
  • Working knowledge of VDI/Citrix environments preferred.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced enterprise environments supporting critical business operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Jamf certifications preferred (Jamf 100/200/300).
  • Experience with enterprise endpoint security and compliance initiatives.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and enterprise service management platforms.
  • Experience with automation and modern endpoint engineering best practices.
