What is a remote endocrinologist?

A Remote Endocrinologist is a medical specialist who diagnoses and treats hormone-related conditions via telemedicine. They consult with patients through virtual platforms, review lab tests, adjust treatment plans, and provide expert guidance on conditions like diabetes, thyroid disorders, and adrenal diseases. This role allows healthcare professionals to offer expert care from a remote location, improving access for patients who may have difficulty visiting in-person clinics.

What does a remote endocrinologist do?

As a Remote Endocrinologist, your day often involves conducting virtual consultations with new and returning patients, interpreting lab results, developing treatment plans, and entering notes into electronic health records. You may collaborate with primary care providers, nurses, and other specialists through secure messaging or video conferences to coordinate comprehensive care. Additionally, you’ll provide education and support to patients managing chronic endocrine conditions and may participate in team meetings or case reviews. The remote structure offers flexibility, but also requires self-motivation and strong organizational skills to manage caseloads efficiently.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a remote endocrinologist?

A Remote Endocrinologist must have board certification in endocrinology, a valid medical license, and in-depth expertise in diagnosing and managing endocrine disorders. Familiarity with telemedicine platforms, electronic health record (EHR) systems, and telehealth compliance regulations is essential. Excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity for compassionate virtual patient care help individuals excel in this role. These competencies enable effective, secure, and patient-centered care delivery from a remote setting.

Company: Eden (eden.health)

Location: Remote (U.S.)

Employment Type: 1099 Contract

About Eden

Eden is a digital health platform focused on democratizing access to metabolic health, weight management, and personalized wellness. We connect patients with independent, licensed healthcare providers who evaluate their health profiles to provide tailored treatment plans. Our platform offers a seamless digital experience that provides patients with access to GLP-1 medications (both FDA-approved brands like Wegovy and compounded alternatives), as well as supportive therapies like Sermorelin for muscle support and NAD+ for energy and longevity.

Driven by lab-backed personalization and our transparent "Same Price at Every Dose" guarantee, we are committed to making high-quality care straightforward, safe, and affordable across all 50 states.

The Role

We are seeking compassionate, board-certified physicians to join our network of independent telehealth providers. In this flexible, remote role, you will evaluate patient intake information, review metabolic lab markers, and determine clinical eligibility for metabolic and longevity treatments. You will guide patients through their weight loss and wellness journeys, offering customized dosing, ongoing support, and evidence-based care through our secure digital platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Evaluation: Review comprehensive patient intake forms, medical histories, and baseline metabolic lab markers to determine eligibility for treatment.
  • Prescribing & Care Planning: Prescribe FDA-approved GLP-1 medications, compounded semaglutide, or other peptide therapies when clinically appropriate.
  • Dose Titration: Utilize patient data to create individualized dosing and titration schedules that maximize efficacy while minimizing side effects like nausea or fatigue.
  • Ongoing Patient Management: Conduct virtual follow-ups to monitor medication tolerance, track weight loss and metabolic progress, and adjust treatment plans as patient needs evolve.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to all state and federal telemedicine regulations, FDA guidelines, and standard prescribing laws.
Qualifications
  • Active, unencumbered Medical Degree (MD or DO).
  • Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Obesity Medicine, or a related specialty.
  • Active state medical licenses (Providers with multiple state licenses are highly preferred, as Eden serves patients in all 50 states).
  • Active DEA registration.
  • Clinical experience in weight management, metabolic health, or peptide therapy is highly preferred.
  • Excellent digital bedside manner and strong written communication skills for asynchronous and message-based patient care.
What We Offer
  • Ultimate Flexibility: A 1099 contract position that allows you to set your own hours and work remotely from anywhere in the U.S.
  • Streamlined Workflow: Our digital health platform manages the friction of patient intake, membership billing, and automated prescription routing to state-licensed pharmacies so you can focus entirely on patient care.
  • Collaborative Ecosystem: Your patients gain access to Eden's broader wellness resources, including 24/7 support messaging, weight loss coaches, and customized nutritional supplementationto support their clinical outcomes.
