Position Summary

The Waste Solutions Director is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving waste management infrastructure for US Operations and developing new business in this division. The role places particular emphasis on new business generation and developing solutions for partnerships with large quantity generators within Ambipar's existing operational footprint as well as in geographies that Ambipar does not currently have fixed facilities. The position accelerates growth in the Waste Solutions Division while building an infrastructure to support existing demands in the field bases, and other specialty divisions.

Strategic Intent

This position increases strategic service offering in the waste solutions division while capitalizing on an existing client base within existing operations and developing new clients with a primary need for waste management support. The role positions the company as the preferred service partner for customers managing industrial services, emergency response, environmental compliance, and waste across a wide range of industries including manufacturing, Oil & Gas, logistics, etc.

Core Responsibilities
  • Lead nationwide Waste Solutions Division, including revenue generation, profitability management, program development, and performance management.
  • Develop and implement procedures for waste profile management
  • Develop and implement system for waste profile management and customer interface
  • Develop and manage waste outlet vendor relationships
  • Develop and implement training solution for RCRA waste management for internal and external use.
  • Identify, evaluate, and execute new waste management opportunities
  • Establish measurable objectives, performance indicators, and reporting frameworks to track progress.
  • Prospect existing clients for waste management solution opportunities
  • Provide regulatory guidance for waste support for clients
  • Identify when new resources are needed to support the division and prepare validation and business case for doing so.
  • Manage staff within the Waste Solutions Division as the division expands
  • Develop and implement programs within command center for waste profiling, manifesting, and logistics in Ambipar field bases.
  • Develop and execute a business development strategy for Waste Solutions Division focused on large quantity generator customers.
  • Identify and qualify opportunities related to waste management with specific emphasis on recurring service programs.
  • Support business development team with client meetings and data driven analysis of client needs.
  • Coordinate with business development team to identify practical solutions for clients whose needs may cross compliance, safety, environmental, and maintenance disciplines.
  • Support teaming, capture, and proposal efforts for larger pursuits involving waste management.
  • Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, and targeted commercial forums to strengthen brand visibility and business development access.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Environmental Science, Marine/Maritime Studies, or a related field prefferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in operations, business development, account management, or strategic sales in emergency response, waste management, industrial services, environmental services, or a related technical service sector.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in waste management sector, specifically technical waste stream management and disposal.
  • Demonstrated success developing business within waste management sector.
  • Working knowledge of sales and industrial-services platforms, including PecWeb (plant and equipment contractor management), HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP Sales Cloud, Fieldglass (VMS/contractor management), Procore (project tracking), or related B2B sales platforms used in industrial markets.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance-driven buying cycles, safety-sensitive operating environments, and customer requirements tied to rapid mobilization, planned work windows, and compliance-sensitive scopes.
  • Strong communication, relationship management, and cross-functional coordination skills with the ability to translate customer needs into executable service solutions.
  • Willingness to travel routinely (50-60%) throughout the United States, including coastal markets, ports, terminals, and industrial corridors.
Preferred Background
  • Experience developing centralized waste management systems and processes.
  • Experience leading or supporting capture efforts, proposal development, and complex pursuits involving multi-stakeholder operational environments.
  • Experience with account penetration to include waste solutions, emergency response, industrial services, and environmental services.
  • Prior relationships with waste disposal and recycling vendors.
  • Familiarity with safety-sensitive industrial environments and HSE-driven procurement requirements.
