Job description

Groupon connects 42 million customers with local experiences - restaurants, events, wellness and travel - and the million-plus merchants who deliver them. Our mission is to get people offline and into the real world at prices that make it possible. We're an AI-native company in the middle of a platform transformation, moving from a deals marketplace to an experience discovery platform that works for customers and merchants at the same time.
Social Media & Influencer Manager - North America
Chicago (preferred) or US remote • Hybrid • Full-time
The Role
Groupon is rebuilding its brand, and North America is the main stage. We need one person to own how we show up in culture - our organic social channels and our influencer & creator program. One brain, one calendar, zero silos.
You'll report to the Brand Marketing Director, lead a team of two, and spend your days answering questions like "is this TikTok video actually driving traffic to our site or is it just getting views to the influencer only" and "is this creator still worth their rate" - with data to back both answers.
What You'll Do
  • Run the NA influencer & creator program end to end - sourcing, rates, contracts, briefs, content review, renewals. You own the budget, the ambassador roster, and the call on who gets reinvested and who gets a polite goodbye.
  • Keep it trackable - affiliate links, promo codes, creator hub pages, and a scoring model that ranks the roster on engagement, deal-view lift, and attributed orders. Vibes are for content. Decisions get data.
  • Direct organic social - channel mix, content pillars, cadence, and the final call on what ships across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and whatever's next.
  • Build AI-native - generative tools are the default here. You should be credible enough in them to direct, critique, and unblock, not just nod at demos.
  • Lead the team - coach two , set one operating rhythm across social and creator, and hold the quality bar.
  • Own the numbers - Total Views on organic; attributed orders and cost-per-view on influencers & creators. Kill what underperforms, reinvest in what works, and build readouts that survive a room with the CMO in it.
You're Probably Our Person If...
  • 5+ years across social and influencer marketing, with 2+ years owning a creator program and its budget.
  • You've negotiated rates, structured contracts, and defended spend with performance data - not a mood board.
  • You've run affiliate/performance tracking for creators (CJ, Impact, Rakuten, or similar) from post through to purchase.
  • You know what actually travels on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube - and how Gen Z consumes, creates, and moves on before your first draft is approved.
  • You're fluent with AI production tools (Veo, Sora, Runway, Midjourney, ElevenLabs, etc.) - enough to judge the output, not just approve it.
  • You can pull a report, find the story, and say what happens next.
  • You've led people - or you can make a convincing case that you're ready to.

Bring receipts. Work samples are required - creator campaigns you ran and what they returned, and social content you produced or directed.
Bonus points: marketplace or e-comm experience where content had to convert, long-form YouTube partnerships, comfort on camera, light editing chops.
The Logistics
Chicago preferred (US remote works too if outside of the Greater Chicago area) • Hybrid with regular office days • Full-time, permanent.
If you read this and thought "this is literally my job" - we look forward to your application!
Compensation: DOE 70,000 - 90,000/yr +15% target bonus
