Responsibilities

Sabre is currently recruiting for a Systems Engineer to work in Lexington Park, MD at NAVAIR. NAVAIR's mission is to provide full life-cycle support of naval aviation aircraft operational systems and subsystems. This support includes the existing performance monitoring and deficiency investigation, periodic upgrades to existing systems capabilities, architectural design, requirements decomposition, and documentation of software system and human interfaces. NAVAIR is organized into eight "competencies" or communities of practice including: program management, contracts, research and engineering, test and evaluation, logistics and industrial operations, corporate operations, comptroller and counsel. NAVAIR provides support (through people, processes, tools, training, mission facilities, and core technologies) to Naval Aviation Program Executive Officers (PEOs) and their assigned program managers, who are responsible for meeting the cost, schedule, and performance requirements of their assigned programs. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in integrated avionics system/subsystem design maturity assessments, including technical adjudication of recommendations.
  • Review and prepare engineering and technical analyses, reports, Use Cases, requirements, OMI design, change proposals and other technical documentation.
  • Participate in new capability analyses and design reviews.
  • Prepare, present proposed specification changes, and engineering changes to the cognizant engineers and approving parties and run approved changes through the internal tracking system.
  • Participate in risk/issue identification, mitigation development, and resolution coordination.
  • Support production and quality assessments of in-production subsystems.
  • Apply engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, and design, develop, implement, test or evaluate complex systems.
  • Apply engineering experience to perform functions such as performance monitoring and deficiency investigation, periodic upgrades to existing systems capabilities, architectural design, requirements decomposition, and documentation of software system and human interfaces.
  • Analyze designs, develops, implements, tests, or evaluates software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of naval aviation systems or associated support systems.
  • Apply process improvement techniques to all work activities.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related technical fields.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in area of engineering expertise and engineering and organizational software tools.
  • Thrives in team-based support of software activities, especially requirements management.
  • Five (5) years of experience in an engineering or computer science field supporting DoD Systems.
  • Candidate must have current DoD secret clearance or higher. 
  • This position does allow for remote work with the ability to travel when needed. 
  • Must be a US Citizen

Compensation Statement
At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms. The general salary range for this position is as follows: $95,000.00 - $140,000.00
