Job description

Primary Responsibility: The Email & CRM Lead owns email marketing execution and strategy across the organization's seasonal events and brands and manages the audience segmentation and list-building work that powers targeted campaigns. This role also handles day-to-day content updates on the organization's websites.

Principal Duties:              

 Email

  • Design and deploy marketing emails, including newsletters, presale announcements, surveys, and welcome/onboarding sequences
  • Build and maintain the email content calendar in coordination with the Director of Marketing and event timelines
  • Track, evaluate, and report on campaign performance (open rate, CTR, CTOR) against benchmarks
  • Coordinate email scheduling to avoid conflicts across concurrent campaigns and brands

 CRM & Segmentation

  • Use the organization's CRM/email platform to build targeted and suppressed audience lists (e.g., excluding recent purchasers from redundant promotions, segmenting by event interest or past attendance)
  • Maintain list hygiene and flag data quality issues
  • Support basic reporting on list growth and engagement trends

 Web

  • Upload and update copy, images, and event details on the marketing website
  • Coordinate larger web/SEO/technical needs with department director

 Cross-departmental coordination

  • Support scheduling of email sends for other departments (e.g., Membership, Development) 

 Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Demonstrated experience with an email service provider that includes real segmentation/automation tools (e.g., Active Campaign, Klaviyo, HubSpot, Constant Contact Plus, or similar) 
  • Comfortable exporting, cleaning, and cross-referencing data from multiple sources (ticketing platform, email platform, web forms)
  • Strong writer/editor with attention to brand voice consistency across distinct sub-brands
  • Basic WordPress or CMS content-entry experience
  • Highly organized, comfortable managing multiple concurrent sends and deadlines
  • Experience with Prospect2, Tessitura, or comparable nonprofit CRM/ticketing systems strongly preferred
