Job description

Our client is hiring an experienced engineer to help scale a major, high-traffic product. Role focuses on backend or full-stack development, system reliability, and architectural improvements in a remote-first team.

Core Responsibilities

  • Build features for web/mobile
  • Design scalable backend services
  • Partner with product + design on technical solutions
  • Mentor engineers and improve team practices
  • Strengthen testing, reliability, and standards
  • Join on-call and incident response
  • Explore new tools/approaches for performance
  • Help teammates remove blockers

What You Need

  • 5+ years building distributed, high-scale backend systems
  • Strong with Node, Elixir, Ruby/Rails, SQL
  • React + TypeScript experience (for full-stack work)
  • Background in APIs, events, and webhook-driven systems
  • Strong debugging skills across multiple services
  • Experience with distributed/service-oriented architectures
  • Bonus: payments, registration, communication systems
