Job description

Clearwaters is seeking a remote EDI MUMPS developer.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain software solutions in a legacy MUMPS / Caché environment
  • Perform coding, unit testing, and debugging to support ongoing system enhancements and maintenance
  • Collaborate with business analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions and provide support for requirements analysis
  • Support system, integration, and user acceptance testing
  • Participate in Beta (IOC) testing activities with active medical centers, including issue resolution
  • Provide ongoing production support and troubleshooting for deployed applications
  • Provide documentation of technical designs, processes, and system behavior
  • Work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team to meet project deadlines

Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Strong experience developing and supporting applications in MUMPS / InterSystems Caché
  • Experience supporting legacy healthcare systems
  • Proficiency with software design, coding, and unit testing
  • Experience working directly with customers or end users
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products (e.g., Windows, Office, Excel)
  • 10 years of direct software development experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) systems, including VistA and FileMan
  • Experience with healthcare messaging standards:
    • HL7
    • FHIR
  • Experience with EDI transaction sets, specifically ANSI X12 835 (Electronic Remittance Advice and Electronic Funds Transfer)
  • Background supporting or integrating with financial systems
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
  • Healthcare or government system experience
  • Exposure to system integration projects in regulated environments
  • Experience supporting long-lived, critical applications

Required Education
  • BA in Computer Science, Engineering or other related technical field preferred.
