Job description

This role requires a highly experienced technical leader who thrives in complex, multidisciplinary environments and is motivated by solving challenging, system‑level problems. The Principal Electrical Engineer will shape advanced technologies, influence architecture and design decisions, and provide technical leadership across teams while mentoring engineers and driving disciplined execution throughout the product lifecycle. This role is based in Denver, CO and is hybrid preferred; highly qualified candidates may be considered for remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and drive electrical architecture, design standards, and technical direction across multiple product programs
  • Lead system-level design and integration of complex mixed-signal electrical systems
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship, guiding engineering teams toward strong design and execution practices
  • Lead cross-functional technical efforts across electrical, software, and mechanical disciplines
  • Evaluate and de-risk new technologies through feasibility analysis and experimental validation
  • Drive resolution of complex system-level challenges across programs
  • Drive engineering processes, development practices, and lifecycle management strategies
  • Ensure designs meet relevant safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 12+ years of experience designing and delivering complex electrical systems

  • Ability to solve highly complex, cross-disciplinary engineering challenges

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with programmable logic or digital hardware design (FPGA/ASIC/HDL)
  • Experience defining technical standards or architecture across teams or programs
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle processes and development tools

This position is not eligible for employer based sponsorship.

Disclosure as required by applicable law, the annual salary range for this position is $130,000 - $209,000. The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education and skill level. The salary range is CONMED’s good faith belief at the time of this posting.
