Position Overview: 


The Electrical Project Engineer is involved with the design and layout, installation, and commissioning of can making and associated process support equipment. The role supports the design and control of specific project elements under the supervision of a Project Manager, from concept through to completion, including design, budgeting, and resourcing activities. The position holds responsibility for electrical specifications and electrical integration within the project scope, provides project control and status reporting for small to medium scale projects, and delivers process support and technical advice to manufacturing sites within the sector. The role also directly supports Project Managers when working as part of a larger sitebased project team.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee assigned project activities from start to completion within areas of electrical expertise, while working flexibly as part of a multidisciplinary project team
  • Liaise with Regional Project Managers, Plant Managers, and Plant Engineers to establish full project scope or identify root causes of technical issues
  • Design and approve equipment layouts and generate electrical schematics using companystandard drawing tools such as AutoCAD
  • Generate electrical specifications and projectspecific criteria, working in conjunction with other members of the Ball Engineering group
  • Liaise with OEMs and contractors to ensure compliance with Ball specifications, standards, and projectspecific requirements
  • Coordinate with engineers, suppliers, and contractors to support the selection of suitable electrical components and systems
  • Liaise with functional teams and relevant local authorities to secure permits, permissions, and design approvals where required
  • Obtain and evaluate competitive quotations from suppliers and contractors to ensure projects remain within approved budgets
  • Participate in the selection of suitably qualified contractors and provide technical guidance during project implementation
  • Prepare and update equipment and electrical specifications and plantspecific documentation
  • Provide commissioning support, including testing, startup, and debugging of equipment or systems until design efficiency is achieved
  • Ensure all drawings, documentation, and software are updated upon project completion and appropriately archived
  • Apply knowledge of CE requirements and regulations specific to electrical installations

What We're Looking For?

  • Broad training in a related engineering field, typically gained through collegelevel education, graduate education, or relevant workrelated experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years' related industry experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and electrical project execution.
  • Experience with AutoCAD for layout and schematic generation.
  • PLC programming knowledge.
  • Strong computer skills, including the standard Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work independently within managementdefined parameters and proactively drive tasks to completion.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in crossfunctional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and small to medium scale projects simultaneously.
  • Professional approach to confidentiality, ethics, and documentation control.
  • English language proficiency required.

Work Environment: This role supports central functions and offers flexible work arrangements including hybrid or fully remote options, subject to role requirements and manager approval.
Hiring Range: 59,250 - 85,320 EUR gross per year. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market benchmarks. Depending on these factors, the actual offer may fall above or below the posted range.
Incentive Plan: This position is eligible to participate in Ball's annual incentive compensation program.
