We are looking for an Electrical Control System Project Engineer to support our ICON brand. This role will be based in the Tampa Bay area and requires frequent travel throughout Florida. Some flexibility to work remotely from other locations within the state may be available.

The job:

As our Electrical Control Systems Project Engineer, you will support the design and delivery of engineered control panels, with a particular focus on highly engineered Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) systems for water and wastewater applications. You will be primarily responsible for developing engineered submittal packages and leading field start-up, commissioning, and customer training activities.

Every day, you will design engineered control panels using AutoCAD, review and interpret project specifications, and develop VFD and SCADA control systems. You will also create bills of materials and prepare the documentation required to manufacture control panels.

In this role, you will work closely with consulting engineers and contractors to clarify project requirements, obtain necessary information, and ensure alignment throughout the project. You will also support the start-up and commissioning of complete VFD systems and Rockwell PLC-based control systems.

The skills, education, and experience you need:

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • Experience designing industrial control systems using AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of harmonic filtering technologies
  • Strong field troubleshooting experience with Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) systems
  • Hands-on electrical experience
  • Exceptional customer service and customer-facing communication skills
  • Experience preparing project takeoffs and quotation

A 4-year Electrical Engineering degree with 5-10 years of experience is preferred.
