Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer with a solid background in electrical systems, system design, and power distribution within the nuclear or energy sectors. The ideal candidate will work on reactor electrical system design, compliance, and integration with a focus on safety and reliability.ย 

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems supporting nuclear reactor operations, including power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation.
  • Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure all electrical systems meet regulatory codes, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Support system integration efforts across multiple disciplines, collaborating with mechanical, control, and nuclear engineers.
  • Participate in safety assessments, risk analyses, and failure mode evaluations related to electrical components.
  • Provide technical expertise during procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.ย 
  • Assist in the development of maintenance and inspection procedures for electrical systems.ย 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 7+ years (or M.Sc. and 5+ years) of experience in electrical system design, preferably in the nuclear, energy, or aerospace industries
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes (e.g., IEEE, NEC) and standards
  • Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP
  • Familiarity with control systems, instrumentation, and system integration
  • Experience with project and contract management preferred
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or working toward licensure is a plus
