About the Role

Brighton Solutions is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to support a growing portfolio of building systems design projects. This role is ideal for a motivated engineer with experience in power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems who is looking to contribute to impactful, multi-sector projects.

You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage technical deliverables, and play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions across a variety of building types.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with architects, owners, and facility teams to align project scope, schedules, and budgets
  • Conduct field assessments and document existing electrical systems to inform design solutions
  • Review architectural and engineering plans to develop system design criteria and recommendations
  • Support the design of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
  • Prepare and review project specifications and engineering documentation
  • Perform and review calculations (load analysis, voltage drop, short circuit, arc flash, etc.)
  • Maintain organized project documentation and engineering records
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of engineering plans, specifications, and deliverables
  • Support construction administration activities, including:
    • Shop drawing reviews
    • Responding to RFIs
    • Site visits and field reports
    • Participation in construction meetings
  • Prepare technical reports and basis of design documentation
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and licensure progression
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in building systems engineering (e.g., commercial, healthcare, education, multi-family, etc.)
  • Experience with electrical system design (power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, grounding, etc.)
  • Familiarity with cost estimating, specifications, and construction administration
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
  • Autodesk / Revit MEP experience preferred
  • AutoCAD experience is a plus
  • EIT / FE strongly preferred or PE preferred (not required)
  • Project management experience is a plus
