• Conduct thorough assessments to identify the social and emotional needs of students, including interviews with parents and teachers.
• Develop and implement individualized service plans that outline specific goals, interventions, and tracking metrics to measure progress and outcomes.
• Provide counseling services aimed at addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral challenges.
• Facilitate family counseling sessions to strengthen interpersonal relationships and equip families with coping strategies.
• Offer crisis intervention and support services during critical moments, including risk assessments and safety planning for students in distress.
• Collaborate with school personnel, including educators and administrators, to enhance the academic and social experiences of students.
• Engage in community outreach efforts aimed at increasing awareness about available mental health resources and support programs.
• Participate in professional development opportunities, team meetings, and training sessions to continually enhance service delivery and knowledge.

The LCSW-C will primarily serve students in K-12 educational settings with a range of backgrounds and challenges. Our focus is on helping students experiencing difficulties such as trauma, learning disabilities, family issues, and other socio-economic factors that may impact their academic success and emotional health. The goal of our services is to empower these young individuals and their families by providing the resources they need to thrive in both educational and life contexts.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program is required.
• Current state licensure as a Licensed Certified Social Worker - Clinical (LCSW-C).
• Strong understanding of evidence-based practices in mental health and social work.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations, demonstrating cultural competence.
• Proficient in digital communication tools and virtual counseling platforms.

• At least 2 years of experience in a clinical social work setting, preferably within educational or community-based environments.
• Demonstrated experience with therapeutic techniques suitable for children and adolescents.
• Knowledge of local resources and community services in Potomac, Maryland, that can support client needs.
