Location: 100% remote

About the Role Our Client is building intelligent, resilient systems to power fast, secure, and scalable digital integrations. We are seeking an experienced Senior Integration Engineer to lead integration solutions using iPaaS platforms, MFT tools, and event-driven architectures. In this role, you'll work cross-functionally with engineering, business, and client-facing teams to deliver robust, high-performance integrations across our enterprise ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain integrations using Boomi or equivalent iPaaS platforms, supporting high-volume logistics workflows and B2B data exchanges.
  • Architect scalable integration frameworks across transportation management systems (e.g., TMF, E2Open, TMW, BlueYonder), carriers, and third-party logistics platforms.
  • Build and manage APIs and connectors to support shipment tracking, order lifecycle events, and customer notifications using REST and SOAP APIs.
  • Lead the full integration lifecycle - from requirements gathering through testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Implement robust error handling, proactive alerting, and self-healing workflows for high availability operations.
  • Integrate with Kafka and/or other event streaming technologies for real-time, event driven logistics processes.
  • Work with MFT tools and understand how they connect to iPaaS platforms via AS2, SFTP, HTTPS, and similar protocols.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams on CI/CD workflows and deployment automation.
  • Work directly with business and client-facing groups to gather requirements and communicate technical solutions.
  • Write and maintain technical documentation and SOPs to ensure knowledge continuity.
  • Mentor junior developers and review code and designs to ensure high standards.
  • Support agile delivery by participating in sprints, stand-ups, and retrospectives using Jira or similar tools.
  • Contribute to the overall integration and enterprise architecture roadmap.

What You Bring Technical Expertise
  • 5+ years of experience using Boomi or equivalent iPaaS tools (MuleSoft, Workato, Cleo, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of MFT tools and how they connect to iPaaS platforms - AS2, SFTP, HTTPS, etc.
  • Experience with Kafka and/or other event streaming technologies.
  • Working knowledge of Groovy and/or JavaScript scripting languages.
  • Experience integrating with REST and SOAP APIs.
  • Exposure to AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, and S3.
  • Strong understanding of X12 EDI standards: 204, 990, 214, 997, 304, 301, 315, 110, 210, 310.
  • Strong understanding of JSON, XML, and CSV document formats.
  • Experience integrating with TMS applications such as TMF, E2Open, TMW, BlueYonder, etc.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases.

Professional Skills
  • 3+ years of experience in Transportation or Freight Forwarding industries.
  • Strong writing skills for technical documentation and SOPs.
  • Comfortable managing multiple client integration projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working directly with business and client-facing groups outside of development.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Proficiency with Jira or other Agile project management tools.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • Master's degree preferred but not required.
  • Strong preference for candidates who have continued to upgrade their skills through education, training, and certifications.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Boomi Developer or Architect Certification.
  • Experience with Microsoft Development Stack (.NET, C#, Azure, SQL Server).
  • Background in AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms.
