In this full-time position, you will engage with clients remotely, offering support and therapeutic interventions to help them navigate their mental health challenges. You will play a crucial role in shaping treatment plans that are tailored to individual needs, addressing conditions such as anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and eating disorders.

About the Organization

Grateful Guidance Psychotherapy Center is a progressive mental health practice located in Oakland, California. Our mission is to provide compassionate and evidence-based psychotherapy that empowers individuals to lead fulfilling lives. We emphasize the importance of cultural competence and inclusivity in our therapeutic approaches, ensuring that all clients feel respected and understood. As a remote practice, we leverage technology to make mental health care accessible and convenient for our diverse clientele.

Work Environment

This role operates entirely within a telehealth setting, allowing for flexibility and the convenience of remote counseling. Licensed counselors will utilize a secure electronic health record (EHR) system to document sessions, track progress, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals. You will have the opportunity to work from your home office while maintaining a supportive connection with colleagues and supervisors through virtual platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of clientsโ€™ mental health status through remote sessions.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based practices and client feedback.
  • Utilize a range of therapeutic methodologies, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques, tailored to meet the individual needs of clients.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
  • Continuously monitor client progress and adapt treatment strategies as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Serve as a liaison to other healthcare professionals, providing referrals to psychiatrists or other specialists as needed.
  • Engage in continuous professional development activities, including attending workshops and training sessions.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our diverse client base includes individuals facing a variety of mental health challenges such as anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, substance use issues, and eating disorders. You will work with adults of various backgrounds, including those from marginalized communities, and will be expected to deliver care that is culturally responsive and inclusive. The role demands a nuanced understanding of how social factors influence mental health and recovery pathways.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • A current and valid license as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.
  • A minimum of four years of relevant clinical experience in mental health counseling or therapy.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment methodologies.
  • Exceptional crisis intervention skills with the ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) technology and telehealth platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record in building rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • A commitment to ethics, confidentiality, and professional boundaries.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to collaborative treatment approaches.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices and culturally responsive therapeutic strategies.
  • Previous telehealth experience is highly desirable, with a comfort level in virtual counseling settings.
Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience. As part of our commitment to employee well-being, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes healthcare coverage, retirement savings plans with employer-matching contributions, generous paid time off (PTO), and paid holidays.

At Grateful Guidance, we value continuous learning and strive to offer pathways for professional development. Counselors will have access to resources for continuing education, specialized training, and mentorship opportunities to enhance their practice.
