Position Overview

Denton Psychotherapy Center is excited to announce a full-time opportunity for a Senior Licensed Mental Health Counselor. In this pivotal role, you will utilize your expertise to connect with clients remotely, evaluate their mental health conditions, and design personalized therapeutic strategies to promote their well-being. You will engage with individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health challenges, including but not limited to substance abuse, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments and interviews with patients to establish their mental health status.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address each client's unique needs.
  • Facilitate regular therapy sessions both individually and in group settings, employing evidence-based practices.
  • Provide clients with coping strategies and tools for managing their mental health challenges effectively.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care, which may include referrals to psychiatrists or other specialists when necessary.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse clientele, which includes adults facing a variety of mental health conditions. These may span from substance use disorders to mood and anxiety disorders, as well as eating disorders. Your capacity to understand and address cultural differences in therapy will be essential in building strong therapeutic relationships and achieving successful outcomes.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • A current and valid state license as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW.
  • A minimum of four years of professional experience in the mental health field.
  • A solid understanding of various mental health disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with patients from various backgrounds.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in providing both individual and group therapy, with a focus on culturally informed practices.
  • Strong crisis intervention skills, as well as the ability to manage challenging situations calmly and efficiently.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems to maintain accurate patient documentation.
  • A commitment to ethical guidelines and confidentiality in all aspects of practice.
Compensation and Benefits
