Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Public Affairs - Minnesota, the Organizing Manager is responsible for leading and supporting grassroots organizing and advocacy efforts throughout Minnesota. This position supervises organizing staff and interns, develops and implements, organizing plans, supports advocacy and electoral campaigns, and helps build volunteer and community engagement strategies that advance organizational goals. The Organizing Manager works collaboratively with the Public Affairs team to strengthen community relationships, recruit and develop volunteers, and execute organizing activities. This position also supports tracking, analysis, and reporting of organizing and advocacy outcomes to measure progress toward campaign goals. The Organizing Manager is an advocate in implementing our mission of โ€œAdvancing and protecting sexual and reproductive health care for allโ€. They may perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree or equivalent experience,
  • 3-5 years combined experience in grassroots community organizing, campaign experience, and/or volunteer and staff management
  • Proven competency with voter/supporter database software

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • SUPERVISION OF ORGANIZING STAFF
    • Hire, train, and manage organizing staff and interns; provide coaching, guidance, and professional development opportunities to staff.
    • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and results-oriented team culture grounded in equity, racial justice, and intersectionality
    • Establish and promote organizing best practices that support effective advocacy, organizing, and electoral work.
    • Lead staff and programming on the coordinated side of the electoral firewall during applicable election cycles, ensuring compliance with organizational, state, and federal requirements.
  • ORGANIZING STRATEGY & PLANNING
    • Develop and implement organizing plans, strategies, and tactics that advance advocacy and electoral priorities in Minnesota
    • Collaborate with organizing staff and cross-functional teams to align organizing efforts with organizational priorities and campaign goals
    • Partner with organizing staff to recruit, engage, and develop volunteers, supporters, and community leaders.
    • Build and maintain relationships with community partners and coalition organizations to strengthen organizing efforts.
    • Evaluate campaign progress and adjust organizing strategies and tactics to meet goals and respond to emerging opportunities.
  • ORGANIZING OPERATIONS AND EXECUTION
    • Lead and support the execution of advocacy, electoral, and community engagement activities across Minnesota.
    • Support staff utilizing organizing tools and tactics for their organizing work, including the Voter Activation Network (VAN), EveryAction (EA), and other outreach platforms.
    • Develop or support the creation of outreach materials, scripts, volunteer resources, event plans, canvas turfs, outreach lists, and other campaign materials as needed.
    • Maintain and deliver organizing training and educational resources for staff and volunteers.
    • Ensure organizing activities are executed effectively, efficiently, and in alignment with organizational priorities.
    • Ensure accurate and timely entry of organizing, volunteer, and advocacy activity
    • Assist in compiling data for reporting.
