Position Overview

The Dynamic Therapeutic Clinic is on the lookout for a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our remote mental health team in San Francisco, California. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality mental health care to elderly patients facing a variety of psychological challenges. Our focus is on supporting the geriatric population by effectively managing conditions such as depression, anxiety, dementia-related disorders, and adjustment difficulties.

Work Environment

This is a full-time remote position, allowing flexibility while maintaining a structured work schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts as needed based on patient demands. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments, specifically designed to address the unique challenges faced by older adults, such as cognitive decline and social isolation.
  • Develop customized treatment plans that are comprehensive and considerate of each patientโ€™s mental, physical, and emotional health needs.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual and family therapy, tailored to address geriatric psychiatric conditions.
  • Collaborate with geriatric psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic and integrated treatment approach.
  • Provide crisis intervention services for elderly patients experiencing acute mental health emergencies.
  • Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, lay out treatment options, and guide them to relevant community resources.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards while utilizing our electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Engage in regular team meetings, case consultations, and professional development initiatives to foster continuous learning and improvement.
  • Stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in geriatric mental health to enhance the quality of care provided.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on the geriatric population, addressing their varied and complex needs. You will work with elderly individuals navigating mental health conditions that impact their overall quality of life, promoting emotional stability and improving their functional capabilities. Your interventions will play a vital role in significantly enhancing patient outcomes and fostering a supportive environment for both patients and their families.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW within the state of California.
  • Strong familiarity with geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment interventions.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, demonstrating a patient-centered and empathetic approach.
  • Capability to build trust and establish rapport with older patients and their families.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records and teletherapy platforms.
  • A collaborative mindset that values teamwork and multidisciplinary approaches.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in providing mental health therapy, ideally with a focus on geriatric populations.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering individual and family therapy tailored to older adults.
