 Location: Hybrid (St. Paul, MN) – Open to exceptional remote/virtual candidates

 Status: Part-time (25–30 hours per week)

Compensation: $30–$32 per hour (Depending on experience)

We advocate for healthier self-perception, promote education on the dangers of toxic ingredients, and work to empower communities to embrace their natural beauty. We believe in fostering a world where beauty is defined by authenticity and well-being, not by skin tone.


Position Summary

The Beautywell Project is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Communications & Development Manager. This is a strategic role designed for a storyteller who can amplify our mission and ensure our organizational sustainability. The ideal candidate will lead the PR strategy for our upcoming major documentary, manage our digital presence, and identify new funding opportunities to grow our impact.


Key Responsibilities

1. Public Relations & Documentary Launch

●     Documentary PR: Serve as the lead contact for the upcoming documentary launch.

●     Media Outreach: Draft press releases, coordinate media screenings, and pitch stories to local, national, and ethnic media outlets.

●     Media Relations: Build and maintain relationships with journalists and influencers to increase the visibility of skin-lightening health risks and colorism issues.

●     Brand Strategy: Maintain a consistent, culturally sensitive organizational voice across all platforms.

2. Fund Development & Grant Management

● Fundraising Strategy: Partner with the Executive Director to develop and execute a diversified fundraising plan, including individual giving and corporate sponsorships.

●     Grant Writing: Identify relevant grant opportunities and draft compelling proposals.

●     Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate reporting to current funders.

●     Donor Engagement: Create and manage digital fundraising campaigns, annual appeals, and donor newsletters.

3. Content Creation & Digital Management

●     Digital Strategy: Oversee the organization’s website, social media channels, and monthly email newsletters.

●     Content Production: Craft compelling blog posts, social media content, and impact reports that highlight the organization’s successes.

●     Analytics: Monitor digital engagement and growth, using data to improve communication strategies.


Qualifications

●     Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or Non-Profit Management.

●     Experience: 3–5 years of professional experience in communications and/or fundraising.

●     Technical Skills: Proficiency with social media management tools, WordPress, and email marketing platforms like Mailchimp.

●     Communication: Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail.

●     Commitment: A deep understanding of and passion for the Beautywell Project's mission and commitment to racial justice and public health.
