Job description

Project Manager

Our client is in the middle of a major telephony modernization effort and needs a project manager who can step into an active program and keep it moving. This is hands-on work migrating a large, complex environment off legacy and analog phone systems and onto modern cloud-based unified communications and contact center platforms. You'll pick up live workstreams - decommissioning old infrastructure, finishing site migrations, tightening change control - while bringing the kind of thinking that spots problems before they turn into fires. If you know both the old world of POTS and analog and the new world of cloud telephony, and you like being the person who brings order to a fast-moving project, this one's worth a look.

As part of our process after applying, you may receive an invitation from our AI Recruiter Avery for a short conversation that lets you share more about your background beyond your resume. For questions, contact .

Job Type: Contract (3 months, with strong possibility of extension)

Location: Remote, with travel up to 25%; must align working hours to Central Standard Time (CST)

Compensation: This job is expected to pay about $55-63/hour

No Visa Sponsorship Available for this role

What You'll Do:

  • Step into an active telephony modernization program, taking over specific workstreams such as decommissioning and completing contact center migrations across remaining sites
  • Manage the migration from legacy and analog phone systems (POTS) to cloud-based unified communications (UC) and CCaaS platforms
  • Bring discipline to change management, enforcing proper testing and notification processes so changes don't get ahead of the plan
  • Track progress, build reporting, and maintain project documentation in Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint within the client's Teams environment
  • Identify risks early, raise issues, and offer strategic input that goes beyond task execution

What Gets You the Job:

  • Project management experience on technical infrastructure projects, comfortable flexing between agile and waterfall as the work demands
  • Strong understanding of both legacy and cloud telephony infrastructure, including on-premise to off-premise (cloud) migrations
  • Hands-on experience migrating legacy/analog phone systems to UC and CCaaS platforms
  • Telecom system decommissioning experience
  • PMP certification and Microsoft Teams voice knowledge are a plus, though practical experience is valued over certifications
