Remote Position: Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Colorado Springs, CO.

Help keep specialty care moving for a military-connected patient population by ensuring healthcare documentation and referral information are accurate, complete, and available when needed.

At International SOS Government Medical Services, you'll support healthcare programs that improve patient care and operational readiness across the U.S. and internationally. Founded in 1984, International SOS operates in more than 90 countries, delivering healthcare, medical assistance, emergency response, and workforce support services worldwide.

Job Description

You'll manage referral and clinical documentation workflows within a centralized healthcare operations center, helping ensure patient records and referral documentation are complete, accurate, and available to support coordinated patient care. Working alongside clinicians, network providers, and interdisciplinary teams, you'll obtain, review, process, and maintain patient records while helping patients access timely specialty care.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Residence Requirement: Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Colorado Springs, CO.

Schedule: Monday-Friday with assigned shifts between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time, excluding federal holidays. Overtime may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Obtain required clinical documentation from network providers and conduct follow-up outreach to resolve missing or incomplete records.
  • Review chart notes for clarity, completeness, legibility, and compliance before associating documentation with the appropriate patient record and referral.
  • Upload, index, label, and maintain clinical documentation using approved healthcare systems while ensuring accurate recordkeeping.
  • Research claims, referral information, clinical history, and chart documentation to support referral management activities.
  • Process secure messaging requests, provider communications, outbound calls, and other patient support activities as assigned.
  • Track requests, follow-up activities, and outcomes to support accountability, audit readiness, and quality performance metrics.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, privacy, security, and applicable healthcare policies while providing professional customer service.
  • Collaborate with Military Treatment Facilities, providers, and internal departments to support efficient referral and documentation workflows.
Qualifications

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 6+ months of healthcare administrative experience.
  • Strong customer service and telephone communication skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft 365 applications including Teams, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred

  • Experience with MHS GENESIS, CXOne, or other healthcare call center software.
