Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ mental health conditions to evaluate their emotional and psychological status.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on the unique needs and goals of clients, incorporating evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
  • Provide therapeutic interventions in individual, family, and group settings, tailored to the specific challenges presented by each client.
  • Monitor clients’ progress diligently, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure program effectiveness and positive outcomes.
  • Offer crisis intervention services for clients experiencing immediate emotional distress or emergencies.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential records in compliance with all relevant legal and ethical standards, ensuring client confidentiality and care quality.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and case managers, to develop comprehensive care strategies.
  • Stay informed about the latest mental health research and trends to continually enhance the effectiveness of treatment methodologies.
  • Engage in professional development activities and participate in regular supervision sessions to refine clinical skills.
  • Adhere strictly to ethical guidelines set forth by professional licensing boards to maintain high standards of care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role is to support a diverse client population with varying mental health concerns, including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma-related issues, and relationship challenges. We prioritize culturally competent care and are dedicated to understanding and respecting the unique backgrounds and experiences of our clients in Waldorf, Maryland, and beyond.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctorate degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is required.
  • Current state licensure to practice as a Mental Health Therapist (LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C).
  • Demonstrable clinical assessment and diagnostic skills essential for developing effective treatment plans.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal abilities.
