Job Summary

Serves as the Legal Department's project-risk lead for assigned mega and complex projects. Works closely with designated project leadership and operations personnel to support commercial risk management processes, including contract compliance, entitlement strategy, notice administration, change management, commercial issue escalation, and dispute preparation. Supports project teams with the proactive identification, management, and mitigation of contractual and commercial risk throughout the project lifecycle. Reports to the General Counsel. This position can be Hybrid/Remote.

Key Responsibilities

1.ย ย ย ย Collaborates with designated project leadership and assigned operational personnel to promote proactive commercial issue identification, effective commercial risk management, compliance with project commercial procedures, and continuous improvement of commercial risk management practices.
2.ย ย ย ย Coordinates with designated project leadership and operational personnel regarding the review, analysis, and management of project correspondence, schedule-related materials, commercial records, and other documentation associated with assigned projects.
3.ย ย ย ย In coordination with project team and General Counsel, provides contract administration support and legal/commercial risk guidance regarding material contractual, commercial and project-risk issues associated with assigned mega and complex projects.
4.ย ย ย ย Partners with designated project leadership in the establishment and implementation of project- and group-based commercial risk management processes, including contract compliance, notice administration, entitlement preservation, and commercial recordkeeping protocols.
5.ย ย ย ย Provides guidance regarding project commercial procedures, documentation standards, reporting protocols, and contract administration practices.
6.ย ย ย ย Supports designated project leadership and assigned operational personnel development and management of project entitlement strategies, including change orders, requests for equitable adjustment, contract interpretation support, commercial recovery efforts, and claims positioning.
7.ย ย ย ย Supports development of dispute strategy and coordination of materials related to claims development, mediation, arbitration, litigation, and other formal dispute resolution proceedings.

Minimum Job Requirements

1.ย ย ย ย Ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership, designated project leadership, operations personnel, and legal counsel in fast-paced project environments.
2.ย ย ย ย Ability to travel periodically to assigned project locations.
3.ย ย ย ย Bachelor's degree required; Juris Doctor (J.D.) or advanced degree in a related field strongly preferred. Ability to obtain law license subject to jurisdictional requirements.
4.ย ย ย ย Demonstrated ability to analyze complex contractual, commercial, and project-risk issues associated with large construction projects.
5.ย ย ย ย Demonstrated experience involving construction contract administration, entitlement strategy, change management, dispute resolution processes, and commercial risk mitigation strategies.
6.ย ย ย ย Demonstrated experience supporting large, complex construction, EPC, industrial, transportation, water, energy, or progressive design-build projects.
7.ย ย ย ย Experience supporting alternative project delivery methods, including CMAR, progressive design-build, EPC/EPCM, or similar delivery structures preferred.
8.ย ย ย ย Minimum of 5+ years of experience in construction contract management, commercial risk management, project risk management, construction claims, or related infrastructure/project delivery experience.
9.ย ย ย ย Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite programs, project controls systems, and project/document management platforms.
10.ย ย ย ย Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to analyze, organize, and communicate complex contractual and commercial information.
