Job description

As a New Business Associate, you will receive, review, document, and process new business applications. You will be responsible for meeting time and quality standards. 

This position will have the opportunity to work primarily remote with periodic time required in their assigned Company office location (Binghamton, NY or Houston, TX). If you reside in the Greater Houston or Greater Binghamton area, this may be an opportunity for you!

The level of the position will be determined by relevant skills, experience and qualifications. 

Description of Duties & Responsibilities: 

•    Process completed applications and ensure all state regulated criteria are sufficiently met while issuing policies in a timely manner. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state regulations. 

•    Communicate with the New Business team, management, and field agents when applicable to obtain missing information or to resolve conflicting data points on applications. Identify new issues that may arise in different processing systems and quickly communicate any problems to management.

•    Understand the billing structures for multiple Credit Unions to ensure that applications are set to draft correctly. Thoroughly document missing and pending requirements for applications and resolve such issues as soon as answers are received, 

•    Generate and review periodic processing reports; communicate any outstanding issues to management. 

•    Process contract changes for face reductions on active policies, issue age corrections, and smoker/non-smoker reclassifications. Participate in a multi-step review process with management to ensure such contract changes are handled correctly and meet expectations of the policyowner. 

•    Other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned by management.

Required Skills & Experience:

•    1-2 years of customer service experience required.

•    1-2 years of data entry experience required.

•    Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word required.

•    Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel required. 

•    Accounting experience preferred.

•    Industry recognized certifications preferred. 

•    Excellent data entry skills.

•    Strong written and verbal communication skills.

•    Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously. 

•    Ability to pay close attention to detail.

•    Ability to prioritize and organize a heavy workload.

•    Ability to adapt to change and work under pressure.

•    Must be dependable.

•    Occasionally required to work overtime.

Education Required: High School Diploma required. Associate’s degree preferred. 

Pay Range: $18.15 to $19.00

The starting pay rate for this role is based on a variety of relevant factors, including location, education, experience, and skills.
