IMPORTANT: Candidates MUST have a strong background in the bearing and/or power transmission industry to be considered for this position.


Salary: $150,000-$175,000/year

Bonus: 20% STIP Bonus, based on performance

Schedule: Days | Full-Time | The role is 100% REMOTE, but you must reside near the Springboro, OH Metro Area

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Business Development to lead commercial growth for a specialized industrial product line. This highly visible position will own business development strategy, customer growth, market expansion, sales-agent leadership, forecasting, and the identification of new product and market opportunities.


This role requires someone who understands highly technical industrial customers, applications, and sales channels.


A strong background in the bearing and/or power transmission industry is a HARD REQUIREMENT for this position. Candidates without this industry experience will not be considered.


Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to drive revenue growth and market penetration.
  • Identify and develop new customers, applications, markets, and business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key industrial customers and strategic accounts.
  • Manage and mentor sales agents while ensuring alignment with commercial goals and growth initiatives.
  • Lead sales forecasting, market trend analysis, competitive positioning, and opportunity development.
  • Develop customer-specific strategies to increase revenue and expand market share.
  • Leverage bearing and/or power transmission industry knowledge to identify customer needs, applications, competitive advantages, and new growth opportunities.
  • Partner with internal teams to identify and prioritize new product development initiatives.
  • Develop business cases and provide commercial input regarding new products and market opportunities.
  • Provide executive leadership with updates regarding sales performance, opportunities, competitive activity, risks, and growth initiatives.
  • Represent the organization at conferences, trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events.
  • Deliver presentations and technical-commercial discussions regarding products, applications, technology, and industry trends.
  • Build brand awareness and credibility with customers, distributors, industry partners, and other key stakeholders.
  • Train customers, sales agents, and internal teams on products, applications, and value propositions.
  • Develop sales presentations, training materials, and commercial tools to improve sales effectiveness.
  • Prepare and manage commercial and marketing budgets in alignment with growth objectives.
  • Utilize CRM and other technology platforms to manage customer communications and opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Strong, demonstrated experience within the bearing and/or power transmission industry REQUIRED.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in business development, commercial leadership, or sales management within a technical industrial environment.
  • Strong track record of generating new business and expanding existing customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop sales representatives or independent sales agents.
  • Strong customer-facing experience with the ability to build credibility and long-term relationships.
  • Experience with forecasting, budgeting, market development, and new product development.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and public-speaking skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Proactive, results-oriented leadership style.
  • Ability to travel up to approximately 30%.

The strongest candidate will combine deep bearing and/or power transmission industry experience with a proven record of business development, technical sales, market expansion, and commercial strategy.
