This full-time remote position plays a crucial role in delivering mental health services to a vulnerable population, focusing on providing compassionate care to incarcerated individuals needing mental health support. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide high-quality counseling services.

About the Organization

The Social Home and Wellness Behavioral Center is a leading community health clinic that specializes in delivering comprehensive mental health care to diverse populations. Our mission is to improve the well-being of our clients through accessible, evidence-based interventions and a focus on recovery and rehabilitation. We are committed to fostering a supportive work environment for our staff, promoting teamwork, compassion, and professional development.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility while ensuring a professional and collaborative work atmosphere. You will be part of a dynamic team that utilizes modern communication technologies to interact with colleagues, clients, and institutional partners effectively. Our culture values mental health equity and encourages continuous learning and improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed mental health evaluations and crisis interventions, determining appropriate treatment dispositions for clients.
  • Provide ongoing assessments and follow-up care tailored to the individual needs of incarcerated individuals, both in one-on-one and group settings.
  • Prepare and submit necessary statistical reports to monitor patient progress and program effectiveness.
  • Foster collaboration with the Department of Correction to ensure zero barriers to patient access, quality housing, and effective treatment outcomes.
  • Lead group therapy sessions on mental health observation units, facilitating discussions and interventions aimed at improving mental health outcomes.
  • Participate in case conferences and treatment planning, integrating interdisciplinary perspectives to optimize care.
  • Engage in regular clinical supervision and maintain up-to-date documentation per state regulations and organizational standards.
  • Assist in supervising interns or student volunteers, contributing to their professional development and enhancing service delivery.
  • Conduct psychological testing as needed to support client assessments.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as directed by the Unit Chief or Clinical Supervisor to meet the evolving needs of the organization.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary clientele for this position includes incarcerated individuals experiencing various mental health challenges, including behavioral problems, substance use disorders, and severe mental illness. You will work closely with this population to provide compassionate, culturally competent care aimed at promoting recovery and reintegration into society.

Qualifications
  • A valid state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is essential.
  • A Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited educational institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience providing direct client care in behavioral health settings is required, of which at least 2 years must be post-licensure experience.
Preferred Experience

Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated experience conducting assessments and interventions specifically with individuals facing behavioral problems, substance use issues, and severe mental illness. Prior experience in correctional facilities or related environments is highly desirable, along with familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic approaches.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this role ranges from $115,000 to $130,000 annually, depending on your experience and qualifications. Benefits include:

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Life and disability insurance for added financial security.
  • Malpractice insurance coverage for all clinicians.
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Program for personal and professional challenges.
  • Minimal paperwork, allowing you to dedicate your time and energy to patient care.
  • Unlimited referrals to maintain a full caseload and meaningful interactions with clients.
  • A supportive atmosphere that prioritizes employee well-being and development.
Career Growth Opportunities

At the Social Home and Wellness Behavioral Center, we value the professional growth of our staff. You will have access to ongoing training programs and workshops to enhance your skills, gain additional certifications, and explore leadership roles within the organization. We encourage staff to engage in continuous learning and to stay updated on best practices in mental health care.

Why Join Our Team
