We are seeking a dynamic and experienced National Sales Director to lead our Annuities division. This pivotal role will focus on expanding our existing annuity product line, building and leading a high-performing sales team, and developing innovative annuity sales strategies.

The successful candidate will set the strategic direction for our annuity product line, design incentive compensation plans, and collaborate closely with our product team to introduce new and innovative annuity products to the market. Deep annuity leadership experience, a proven sales background, and established relationships within both independent distribution channels and Financial Institutions are essential for success in this role. WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Estimated Base Salary: $130,000 - $165,000, plus incentive-based compensation plan.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Leadership and Strategic Direction: Possess deep leadership experience in the annuities sector, responsible for setting strategic directions, expanding, and managing annuity product lines. This includes designing incentive compensation plans and making strategic decisions to modify distribution directions as market demands evolve.
  • Sales Execution and Revenue Growth: Proven track record in driving revenue growth and achieving sales targets within the financial services industry, through developing and implementing innovative annuity sales strategies; leading; mentoring and coaching a team of wholesalers and creating a culture of sales excellence and accountability.
  • Relationship Management and Network Expansion: Establish and cultivate strategic relationships across National Marketing Organizations, Independent Marketing Organizations and Brokerage General Agencies enhancing brokerage distribution arrangements and ensuring effective coordination of sales efforts by partnering cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Compliance, Operations, and Technology teams to support partner needs and enhance market competitiveness.
  • Operational Coordination and Management: Oversee and coordinate sales efforts across multiple home office areas, addressing relationship/channel challenges, and directing account assignments. Serve as a leader and wholesaler for specialty market and annuity accounts.
  • Marketing and Sales Plan Implementation: Develop, negotiate, and implement detailed marketing and activity action plans for Annuity Sales distribution relationships. This includes documenting these plans and coordinating marketing and service activities to ensure commitments are met effectively.
  • Deliver market insights, competitive intelligence, business requirements, forecasting, and KPI reporting to senior leadership.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Minimum of 7+ years proven track record in the annuity industry, with specific experience in expanding and managing annuity product lines, driving revenue growth, and achieving sales targets. Must demonstrate expertise in sales management and techniques specific to life, health, and annuity products.
  • Strong leadership abilities required to build and lead high-performing sales teams, with a demonstrated capacity for teaching, fostering development, and ensuring compliance in an equitable manner. Should have the ability to operate collaboratively within large organizations.
  • Must be a strategic thinker capable of developing and implementing innovative annuity sales strategies, setting strategic directions for product lines, and designing competitive incentive compensation plans.
  • Requires an extensive network and established relationships within annuity distribution in Independent, Brokerage and Financial Institutions.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, coaching  and executive relationship building skills.
  • Proficiency in translating strategic plans into actionable and effective marketing and sales plans. Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and persuasion skills are essential for establishing and maintaining effective distribution and sales relationships.
  • You promote a collaborative culture, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.
  • Able to travel extensively (approximately 75% annually).
