The Director of Community Pharmacy will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for a growing retail pharmacy network consisting of 65 community pharmacy locations across 12 states. This executive leader will be responsible for aligning strategy with operational processes and procedures, financial reporting and performance metrics to drive consistency, efficiency, and future growth across the enterprise. The Director will lead efforts to synchronize pharmacy operations, standardize best practices, lead automation and technology strategies, and support contracting efforts with the overall goal of improving access to affordable medications to patients in the communities we serve. The optimal candidate should possess good business acumen while understanding the importance of serving patients, ensuring pharmacy is a significant part of the patient's journey within the Trinity Health connected care model. The Director of Community Pharmacy must be a licensed pharmacist in at least one of Trinity Health's 27 operating states and possess a proven track record of leading state-wide or multi-state pharmacy operations for an organization with regional or national network.

POSITION PURPOSE

TheCommunityPharmacyDirectoris a licensed registeredpharmacistaccountable for leading, managingandadvancing people, processesand/ or programs that support direct or indirect patient carefor assignedregion/business line.TheCommunityPharmacy Directorpromotesandadvocates for patients,pharmacists/ colleaguesandthe practice ofpharmacyas defined by clinical area(s) of expertiseandassignment.

Responsibleforprovidingleadership, oversight,direction, alignment, and standardization forCommunityPharmacyservicesacrossthe Trinity Health national system in collaboration with local and regional executive and pharmacy leadership.Implementsstrategic and operationalinitiatives including new services/programs, revenue enhancement, expense reduction, managed careutilizationsystems, and strategies.Responsible for ensuring performance excellence in terms of quality, safety, service, affordability, and technology.Oversees drugutilizationmanagement efforts; manages the pharmaceutical supply chain; andis responsible forthe financial operations.

Pharmacy Operations-Responsible for medication safety measures and efficient operational processes. Initiates and supportsbusiness developmentand revenue integrityactivities.Ensures compliance with the340B program regulations,recommends opportunities, promotescommunity benefit, andoptimizescontracting.Optimallyutilizesand integratestechnology andcentralized support services.

Clinical-Supports Clinical Pharmacy programs, druguse improvement initiatives, and medication safety measures.Communicatesdrug information andappropriate medicationuse recommendations to appropriate stakeholders/committees.

Professional Development-Responsible for training, education, coaching, and assessment of pharmacist competencies. Participates in own professional development bymaintainingrequired competencies, licenses, and certifications,identifyinglearning needs and seekingappropriate assistanceor educational offerings.Creates a work climate that empowers colleagues and values colleagues' contributions.

Procurement-DirectsCommunityPharmacy procurement activities including purchasing, receiving, storing, distribution, inventory, and dispensing ofpharmaceutical.Optimizesprocurement and distribution processes and develops/implements innovative means to improve efficiencies, reducewasteand maximize financial contribution. Analyzes vendor contracts,participatesin negotiations asappropriate, and monitors contract compliance.

Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health's Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.

FUNTIONAL ROLE

Provides operations and/or optimization leadership focus; Directs clinical specialty (patient-facing) department(s)/area(s) or specialty non-clinical (non-patient facing) department(s)/area(s); May provide leadership and direction through managers; Balances between staff leadership, broader organizational direction & administration; Accountable for the performance, regulatory readiness, and results of a single large, strategic area/related disciplines or multiple medium-sized departments/areas/clinics in a medium to large-sized single functional domain within a limited geography.

Analyzes external factors that affectCommunityPharmacy operations, including activities of business competitors, proposed changes in third-party financing, and pending legislative proposals. Plans, implements, andmonitorsresults of marketing and advertising strategies for theCommunityPharmacy market and home care pharmacy toidentifycustomer preferences and to increase market penetration.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:Bachelor'sDegree inPharmacyisrequired.Advanced orMaster'sdegreepreferred (e.g.,PharmD, MBA).

Experience: Minimumofseven(7)years' experienceas a pharmacist.Minimumseven(7) yearsofCommunity Pharmacymanagementexperience.Management within ahealth-systemis preferred.

Licensure:Currentpharmacist state licensurewithin one of thestatesTrinity Healthmaintainsoperations.Obtainstatelicensurein practice/employmentwithin180 daysof hire.
