Rush Counseling Center is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our remote team in Erie, Pennsylvania. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to provide direct support and therapeutic services to clients grappling with major mental health challenges, specifically within a detox center setting. Our LCSW will be crucial in fostering recovery and improving the overall mental health of our community's under-served populations.

About the Organization

At Rush Counseling Center, our mission is to promote healthier communities through the delivery of quality, safe, and patient-centered healthcare services. We are deeply committed to serving medically under-served areas, making mental health care accessible regardless of an individual's ability to pay. As an organization that prioritizes local action while thinking globally, we strive to set a standard for other health centers to follow. Our guiding principles underscore our commitment to inclusivity, respect, and holistic care, ensuring that every client receives the support they need.

Work Environment

The LCSW position is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility while ensuring that clinicians remain actively engaged with clients through a virtual setup. Our detox center serves as a supportive facility for individuals in recovery, enhancing accessibility to various therapeutic resources. Our team-oriented culture emphasizes the importance of collaboration, mutual support, and continuous learning, with regular check-ins to foster team cohesion even in a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct clinical services to clients experiencing major mental illnesses and severe emotional disorders, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
  • Conduct thorough assessments which may include clinical interviews, standardized assessments, and collaborative discussions with clients and families to develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Implement integrated care plans, ensuring effective linkage to community resources and monitoring client progress through regular follow-ups.
  • Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions focused on empowerment, choice, and fostering positive patient outcomes.
  • Engage in crisis intervention efforts as needed, demonstrating a calm and strategic approach to managing urgent client needs.
  • Monitor and document client admissions, progress, continuation of care, and discharge criteria, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
  • Participate in team meetings to contribute insights and collaboratively strategize on client's care plans and programs.
  • Ensure adherence to ethical guidelines and contribute to a safe therapeutic environment by identifying and reporting any concerning situations.
  • Assist with on-call coverage as required, maintaining readiness to support clients in acute distress during and after program hours.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by actively participating in committees aimed at enhancing program delivery and client satisfaction.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this position, you will work closely with a diverse range of clients, including those dealing with substance use issues, major depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, and crisis situations. Our focus on under-served populations means you will encounter clients from various backgrounds, requiring a culturally sensitive approach. Your ability to relate and adapt to the unique needs of each client will be pivotal in fostering effective therapeutic relationships and achieving positive outcomes.

Qualifications
  • Must possess a valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification in Pennsylvania.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of direct clinical experience in a mental health or substance use treatment setting is essential.
  • Demonstrated expertise in assessment, diagnosis, and crisis management is critical for success in this role.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are necessary for effective documentation and client interaction.
  • Strong organizational abilities with a knack for planning and managing multiple client caseloads.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working within a detox or substance abuse recovery environment is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic practices and integrated care models will enhance your effectiveness.
  • Training in trauma-informed care or similar methodologies is a plus.
  • Experience in remote therapy delivery through telehealth platforms is advantageous, as this role primarily involves virtual interactions.
Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of USD 70,000 – 85,000 annually, reflective of experience and qualifications. In addition to a supportive and positive work environment, we provide comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, paid time off, continuous training opportunities, and support for licensing requirements. We also foster professional development, encouraging participation in workshops and conferences relevant to the field.

At Rush Counseling Center, we believe in the potential for continuous growth. As part of our commitment to professional development, we offer pathways for advancement, including leadership roles within our clinical team or opportunities for specialization in certain therapeutic practices.
