About the Company

A Prospect Capital portfolio company and one of the nation's leading branch-based consumer installment lenders serving non-prime borrowers through an extensive network of physical locations. The Company is seeking an entrepreneurial and results-oriented leader to build and scale its digital lending platform.


This is a unique opportunity to leverage the strength, profitability, and operational expertise of an established branch business while creating a best-in-class online lending channel. The role offers significant visibility, direct access to senior leadership, and the opportunity to shape the future growth strategy of the organization.


Reporting directly to a member of the executive leadership team, the General Manager, Digital Lending will own the growth, profitability, and strategic direction of the online lending business.


Position Summary

The General Manager, Digital Lending will serve as the business leader for the Company's online lending channel, with accountability for originations growth, portfolio performance, customer acquisition economics, customer experience, and overall profitability.

The successful candidate will combine expertise in non-prime consumer lending with a strong understanding of digital marketing, credit strategy, fraud mitigation, and operational execution. This individual will work cross-functionally with Credit, Technology, Operations, Finance, and Compliance teams to grow an online lending platform.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own the strategic direction, operating performance, and profitability of the online lending business.
  • Develop and execute a multi-year growth strategy that complements and enhances the Company's branch-based lending operations.
  • Establish performance objectives and key metrics across the customer lifecycle, including acquisition, conversion, approval rates, fraud losses, delinquency performance, servicing outcomes, and customer retention.
  • Partner with Credit and Risk leadership to optimize underwriting strategies, credit policies, pricing, and portfolio performance.
  • Collaborate with Marketing teams to drive efficient customer acquisition through digital channels, including paid search, lead aggregators, affiliate partnerships, direct mail integration, and other emerging channels.
  • Work closely with Technology and Product teams to enhance the online customer journey, streamline application and funding processes, and improve digital conversion rates.
  • Partner with Fraud and Operations teams to strengthen fraud prevention capabilities while maintaining a seamless customer experience.
  • Collaborate with Servicing and Collections leaders to improve repayment outcomes and maximize customer lifetime value.
  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing cross-functional team dedicated to the online lending channel.
  • Establish reporting disciplines, governance processes, and regular executive updates to ensure rigorous performance management.
  • Serve as the executive champion for innovation and continuous improvement within the digital lending business.


Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience within consumer lending, with substantial experience in the non-prime segment.
  • Demonstrated success building, scaling, or leading a profitable online installment lending business.
  • Direct experience with online underwriting, credit strategy, and portfolio management in a digital lending environment.
  • Strong understanding of digital customer acquisition, including paid search, lead generation, affiliate marketing, direct mail integration, and channel economics.
  • Experience managing or influencing fraud strategy, identity verification processes, and digital risk controls.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders across Credit, Marketing, Operations, Technology, and Compliance functions.
  • Strong analytical orientation with experience using data and performance metrics to drive business decisions.
  • Executive presence with the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and boards of directors.
  • Experience in organizations operating both branch and online lending models is strongly preferred.


The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $200,000-$275,000, with eligibility for a performance-based annual incentive program. The compensation package may also include long-term incentive opportunities commensurate with experience and demonstrated success. Actual pay may be adjusted based on experience and performance.
