Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients, identifying their specific psychological needs and care requirements.
• Provide individualized and group counseling sessions focused on emotional difficulties related to aging, such as grief, anxiety, and depression.
• Work closely with healthcare providers and interdisciplinary teams to create and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to each client's unique situation.
• Educate family members and staff on effective strategies to foster emotional well-being and enhance the quality of life for seniors.
• Facilitate grief counseling sessions for both residents and families dealing with end-of-life issues, providing a compassionate and supportive space.
• Develop and lead cognitive stimulation programs and mental health interventions designed to maintain and improve cognitive health among elderly individuals.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, counselors will focus primarily on serving elderly clients, including those experiencing age-related health issues, mental health challenges, and significant life transitions such as retirement, relocation, or loss of loved ones. Understanding the unique psychological needs of this demographic is essential for providing effective care and support. Counselors will employ evidence-based practices, including cognitive behavioral therapy, to address the specific needs of our geriatric population.

Qualifications

• A master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).
• Demonstrated expertise in geriatric mental health and familiarity with aging-related issues.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to maintaining a patient-centered focus.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience providing mental health counseling specifically to elderly populations.
• Additional training or certifications related to geriatric mental health, grief counseling, or cognitive therapies.
• Familiarity with digital health technologies and teletherapy practices to enhance client engagement.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 85,000 to 105,000 per year, which reflects the level of experience and skills brought to our organization. Additionally, new hires will receive a sign-on bonus. Benefits include:
