Position Summary

CVS Health is looking for a dynamic and driven Senior Dev Ops Engineer to help lead the creation of best-in-class digital delivery within Platform Enablement. In this role, you will be technically assisting the team of engineers to drive and execute the delivery automation of our CVS Health Enterprise Engineering. The platform is focused on providing a seamless customer experience, identifying, and analyzing system design weaknesses, along with troubleshooting complex technical issues. In addition, this role will assist the team technically around automation of incidents, End to end CI/CD pipelines, Application coding, which will provide site reliability services while supporting operations and CI/CD of the platform.

You will use your people management skills to support, manage and mentor other engineers with deep and varying technical backgrounds and experience. You should have the ability to prioritize well, communicate clearly, have a consistent track record of delivery and excellent software engineering and people management skills. A successful candidate will be a highly motivated, collaborative individual; motivated to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.

What you will do:

  • Ability to work in Cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure and in end-to-end DevOps pipeline.

  • Partner with technical leaders within CVS and the open-source community and contribute to technical designs, frameworks, roadmap definition, and requirements-gathering.

  • Provide domain knowledge and engineering insight to guide early designs, accelerate project decision-making, and maintain close oversight of technical execution.

  • Encourage and maintain engineering excellence on the team to build reliable distributed systems that our customers can build their business on.

  • Become a trusted decision-maker for important projects with high technical or outcome risk.

  • Plot and execute on the path from prototype to production for features.

  • Bring passion, energy and excitement to the team and organization

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deal with multiple priorities.

  • Collaborate with various areas of the organization including business partners, product owners, architecture, security, digital and engineering teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of overall backend development experience on enterprise class applications

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Core Java /Golang/Python/Node Js or any backend programming stack

  • 3+ years in writing the infrastructure as code (IAC) or other similar technologies to deploy the microservice application infrastructure

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with End-to-End CI/CD, especially with GitHub EMU, GitHub Actions and Artifactory management

  • 2+ years of experience in cloud solutions such as GCP, Azure

  • 2+ years of experience working in teams with Agile software development methodology

  • 2+ years of experience using container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and Package manager such as Helm

  • 2+ years of experience of building automation through scripting and/or CLIs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines

  • End to End DevOps hands-on knowledge and tools like Harness, CircleCI or similar tools

  • Excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to help/guide team in resolving technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation

  • Ability to work cross functionally with other teams to resolve dependencies, and ensure transparency

  • Understanding of Microservice patterns & concepts and troubleshooting issues along with fixing/remediating the defects and security vulnerabilities with Continuous Integration and automated testing strategies and tools

  • Able to research and learn new methodologies and technologies and bring knowledge to the team

  • Experience with observability, Telemetry for infrastructure services

  • Experience with tools such as Octopus, TeamCity, Jenkins is a plus

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $203,940.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
